Post position winning % will NOT add up to 100%. There is always a post position 1 horse and usually a 2,3,4,5,6,7, and 8 horse. Rarely a post position 10, 11, or 12 horse. So aside from the disadvantage of the outside posts, there will be a higher percentage of horses winning in post 1-8 regardless.

@ Good call, so the percentages should be computed on equal field sizes and then would add up to 100, thanks. Or just count wins only for the Pegasus, which #4 is best, winning twice, or 22%. ChatGPT says Locked won this year, maybe he knows something we don’t.
