Strength: Tarot Meaning Deep Dive

A traditional meaning that has added depth to my readings esp. when reading for others is the need to tame a “carnal” desire. In other words, if someone is experiencing feelings for someone else yet is in a committed relationship and this card shows up- that can indicate a need to keep those desires in check as allowing them expression may be destructive. The “carnal” desires are represented by the lion. Same with aggressive desires within- gently but girly taming them.

Strength may be my favorite card as I can identify with being perceived as soft or weak because I’m reserved. However, I know how to manifest things by planting seeds (ideas), being patient and letting the seeds germinate. Gentle strength can be very powerful. Thanks for another chapter in the major arcana. Your insight is remarkable.

No coincidences. Got this card today when asking whats the issue in need of solving. Meanwhile I know what it is but dont want to solve it 😬... I have an issue with fostering cats...Im obsessed and its un-balancing my life and health ...been arguing with everyone at home because of this & I know they right ....and here you are giving that exact example. 😅 I dont have that strength.....or I guess I do, the card is telling me I do as it came upright....but its so hard 😢...I do but i still dont want to sort it out, it breaks my heart, I need to win the lottery 😑...I need to build a cat Hotel😢😢😢 Thank you for your work and your examples they help a lot.

I can relate with your fostering stray cats example. Same is the case with me. 🙂 I sadly lost my own cat, he ran away and have found a new home for himself, refusing to come back home to me becoz I was busy taking care of other stray cats. Now I have started to just give food to any cat coming at my door instead of keeping them all with me in a room. I hope he comes back home when he needs me.

Aww, sorry to hear that. He might end up coming back to you if you stop feeding other cats, but I guess he felt like his territory was being overtaken. Cats are funny that way - if they don't like what's going on in their home, they find themselves a new one. I know so many people who ended up with their neighbours cat after their neighbour got a dog or had a baby or something like that.

I had the craziest thing happen today. I've been struggling with some personal things, loss and grief. Tarot has been helping me process a lot of that but I lost my usual deck. I bought a new deck and have been doing a card of the day. Today I picked strength. That in itself helped, but then I found my old deck. I was so happy and thought 'oh I'll redraw the card of the day'. I drew strength again. Out of 78 cards I drew strength twice 🥹 it's helped me get through the day. 💜

Hi Kate, thank you so much for putting these together, they're ever-so good! I'm a peer support worker, and work alongside other support workers and clinical staff to help with people recovering from mental illness. There is so much in this card which is pertinent to the work my colleagues and I pursue. Finding compassion when circumstances become incredibly challenging; setting and maintaining healthy boundaries, and shifting as necessary; self-care, and self-compassion - these are all integral parts of the work we do, whether we're clinical or support workers. I'm working my way through this series slowly, and really loving it. Would you mind if I downloaded your work? As I mentioned on a previous comment, I'm working on a book at the moment and this series is proving invaluable to me - perhaps I'm being too cautious, but I'd hate to come back in a few months time to re-cap on some things only to find that they'd disappeared! Hi Kate, thank you for sharing your knowledge and thoughts about tarot. I learned a lot 🌹 take my advice and buy yourself a cat litter robot, I'm a cat breeder and that's how I survive without doing litter boxes everyday. Saves time and money.
