Could you use this for the street? Or are you better off with tech air ..? Anyone
@motopassionato5552 жыл бұрын
Of course you can, but it's not exactly made for that and would likely be uncomfortable if not fully tucked. Dainese told me the Smart Jacket is their recommendation for D-air street use.
@worlow18414 жыл бұрын
Hello, I got a few Questions: 1. Can this be used on the streets or is the airbag system not intended for the street? 2. Can the minimum speed to activate the airbag be changed? 3. Is the airbag also protecting the back like a gimoto airbag system? 4. why is the suit made out of cow leather? I thought that race suits have all kangaroo leather?! 5. is there a alternative airbag suit in the same price range that is made of kangaroo leather?
@RevZilla4 жыл бұрын
I will try to hit these questions one at a time. I would recommend if you have any further questions, feel free to follow up with our Customer Service Gear Geeks so they can give you all the information that you need. 1) The D-Air Race system is designed for the track only, whereas the D-Air Street version has the added protection of impacts with other vehicles/protection at a stop. 2) No you cannot change the minimum speed to our knowledge, but that would likely be a better question to Dainese's tech department. However to our knowledge, no you cannot. 3) The Airbag system is housed in the back, but the primary impact focus is at the collarbones not the back. The rider would still need to wear a back protector as most track riders do. 4) Most race suits are made out of cowhide due to the cost of Kangaroo which is usually reserved for the top tier custom suits or pro racer models. 95% of race suits on the market (approximately) are made of cowhide, and only 5% are made out of kangaroo. 5) From Dainese, there is no like-priced Kangaroo suit w/ a D-Air Race system built in. They do offer the Mugello R D-Air suit but at that price point, it is a hefty investment to say the least. Hope that answers your questions. - Pat

All airbag suits will block more air than non-airbag suits, but this still flows a lot of air. -DrewZilla
@patthonsirilim57394 жыл бұрын
thats because this system have a lower coverage then the alpine unit this unit only cover shoulder and clavicle while the chest side rib is wide open it should flow almost like an normal non airbag suit while the alpinestar unit is more like a vest of airbag and being air bag mean it has to keep air therefore it will also prevent air from passing but if you ask me i like the dainese strategy of coverage more ive crash multiple time on track even broke my collarbone wish i had this suit might have prevented it but except for that i have never really gotten any other injuries you are really only gaining back and side rib and chest protection compare to dainese but the muggello r suit would also add side rib coverage you can add ce2 chest and back protector that flows very well and combine with a the d air airbag it think in terms of real life safty aspect its pretty much the same as the alpine tech air race but with the added benefit of not being so bulky and having excellent airflow the difference might not be as great in more colder climate but in hotter and humid climate like Thailand or south east asia your really feel the difference between the 2 and comfort is also part of safety if your not comfortable in your gear its easier for you to lose concentration and crash dainese have always been very comfortable brand for me there d1 boots are far more comfortable then alpine supertech r boots with comparable safety

Is there any measurements in the size chart that are more important than others? My inseam puts me in a 52, but my waist and chest put me in a 50. Any suggestions?
@RevZilla4 жыл бұрын
The chest is typically the most important, we find the fit through the torso is the most critical in a suit. Additionally, since you wear long gloves and tall boots in a race suit, it's actually not that bad if the wrist and ankle are just a tad short, this is very common for taller rides, but not a safety concern since your other gear makes up for that lack of length. -Zack

I wouldn't. $2500 for CE level 1 protection and a subpar airbag. Spend the money on an alpinestars suit that is CE level 2 standard and throw their much better airbag system into it. Same price give or take $100 and way better protection.

@motopassionato5552 жыл бұрын
I am 5'6" (almost 5'7"), 130lbs, and size 44 euro fits me perfect, quite snug but not overly so. Dainese is great about returns if you haven't used the suit. It sounds like you'd want to try a 46 or even 44.

So once the airbag deployed, you gotta send it to dainese to repair it for 300+ dollars?
@RevZilla3 жыл бұрын
Pricing from Dainese varies on the inspection/replacement but yes it would need to be returned back to them. They also inspect the airbag to make sure that after it saved you once - it is capable of doing it again.
