Funny thing is, I do not. I do occasionally find an isopod in a different isopod container that it does not belong in, and I will be remedying this shortly. If you notice in the second container I believe, there is one 'hitchhiker' running around.

They're also the most vicious from my experience! Lol! Very active and they're more on the protein-craving side than other species in my collection. I was actually debating with one of my fellow isopod friends if they can be future predators if they're this protein addicted. Give them a couple thousands of years to evolve and they might split off into several groups and some might even branch off as full-fledged predators but bigger!.🤣

Somehow, when I was starting out, i couldn't breed the normal version of porcellio laevis. For some reason, they never bred and then, they just slowly died off. I will definitely have to try again with these! They look much cooler then the wild type in my opinion. You have a TON of those! I had no idea that they were that fast of a breeder!

I wouldn't feed them to Ts as, if they are not eaten right away, they will bother the tarantula. We sell our isopods.

They do, depending on the reptile of course. What I am hearing is that bearded dragons especially enjoy a bovine snack occasionally.

None that come to mind. There are other isopods that breed faster (non Armadillidium) like florida fast, curlys, powder blue and oranges.

I have a question that no one seems to mention with isopods, its about the cork bark do we need to sterilize it? boil it? and bake? it in the oven 250°F for an hour? I'm curious, because I just bought some cork bark from Zoo Med and I'm kind of nervous to put it in the cage, I hear all types of things I just want to confirm it your channel has alot of info on isopods 👍🏼 i luv the videos if any one can help with my question that would be greatly appreciated

This maybe a super noob question, but do you use these as feed for tarantulas and reptiles and stuff along with using them to keep the enclosure clean?? Not much info on that, but maybe I'm asking the wrong questions??

They can be used as feeders. However, I would not with tarantulas as, if the T does not eat the pod, then molts, the isopod could hurt the T. Good question. Thanks.

I've never tried. With a large enough enclosure, you may want to try that. However, the slime from the snails could cause issues with the isopods.

I started out with 30 dairy cows last month, in a shoe box size container. I just ordered 100 more. So that will be about 130 dairy cows. Would you put 130 in a shoe box size bin? Put 130 in a bigger bin? Or divide them evenly into several bins?

Just got a small culture of these last week. I wish all my Isos would boom like yours do! I think I need to use decaying wood instead of cork bark and I’ve been working on my consistency with food/calcium/moisture in my bins. 🤞🏻 Also, do you breed your own Dubias? Would love to see your setup.

Turning blue is absolutely a big issue with isopods. This is probably a lethal virus. Sorry.
