You had to wait 55 years and you appreciate it better... you rock buddy. I'm in the same boat with you!! God bless! Thanks for the video. I'm a big fan of cheap air rifles and pistols, besides other things... they're the most fun any adult can have out in the yard or the field on any given day. Well, then there's fishing and boating too. All new hobbies since retirement for me! Regards from Vermont! Ron

I bought one and considering there's no rifling it's more accurate than expected. Very light (2lb) and easy to use, steel BBs are cheap & no need for CO2. The box says 350fps max, chrono says 275fps (muzzle energy

I owned a Daisy Model 1894 BB gun back in the Sixties. Then I went to the Daisy BB Gun Museum in Rogers, Arkansas a few days ago. After seeing the 150 Years History of Daisy BB Guns I just had to buy a Red Rider BB Gun. They had “remanufactured” Red Rider BB guns for sale there for $15.00. Most of them were perfect except for maybe a small scratch or so. I found one that was flawless. I grew up in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio in the Fifties and Sixties and the scenes of downtown Cleveland in the movie Christmas Story was straight out of some fond memories that I had experienced myself.

I loved my Red Ryder in 1974, it was Christmas present when I was only 8 yo. Then I got the Daisy Powerline with a scope a few years later. Then a Crossman Pumpmaster 760 and American Classic single shot pistol. Just before I turned 29 I enlisted in the USMC and was issued an M16 AND an M2 Browning 50cal lol WOW~

Sorry I've taken a while to reply. Thanks for your comment, I like to hear of other people's experiences. I've heard that the during WW2 the USMC used red ryders to train marines to shoot from the hip while skirmishing. Sounds plausible.

Same here, wanted one when I first saw them advertised in my Marvel comics. I was too late to the adult Red Ryder party to get one, so I got a standard length one and it works fine (I’m 5’7”). It’s the exact same length as an M1 carbine and if that was good enough for WW2 and Korea it’s good enough for my back yard. It also means you can get yourself a repro WW2 carbine case to keep it in! I got a nice sheepskin lined one to keep my “Ryder” snug. When you think about it, it’s the BB equivalent of the AK-47- cheap, simple, effective and unchanged for years!

Nice. The AK47 is as large as the AK-47 as well

The box says 350 FPS, the “chrony” says 280 FPS. Have several old US and China too. None shoot faster than 280. A bit of advice, use safety glasses--nothing ricochets like a steel bb. “Shot uer eye out”. Great trainers for kids, with glasses. Clean the bore with a degreaser, I use acetone. Gun shoots much straighter with dry bore. Try different brand bbs, I find the Daisy silver coated better than most. If u get serious, get the daisy “match grade “ have to order and $$$. But worth it if u want the best. The Chinese guns (hate to say this) are better and more accurate than the older US made guns. Daisy quit putting $$ in the old plant many yrs ago. Equipment shot. The new guns are obviously being built with up to date tooling. Have a seamless shot tube design that’s really good. Been shootin them since the ‘50s, can’t be beat

I use cardboard shooting galleries ricochets arent an issue . I use crossman copper coated bbs they shoot well and can be reused many times.

I have a (shoot your eye out) Red Rider (adult model) and I put a scope on it. I took it off because it defetes the purpose of this fine little plinker. It's made for basic fun. Use it for that and it'll provide years of enjoyment. A drop of oil now and then and she'll work perfectly for a long time.
