Daisy Ridley has always seemed like a decent, kind person during interviews--- much like in this clip. But I've no desire to see another Star Wars film after seeing Episode VIII. It is one of the worst films I've ever seen. You couldn't pay me to re-watch it. But my contempt for Episode VIII has nothing to do with Daisy Ridley. And I think a lot of people, regardless of how they feel about Disney and Lucasfilm, wish her well. They understand she is just an actress, doing a job. We're just sick of the corporation that ran it to the ground, and we see it for what it is now. Another dead franchise.

But I have serious doubts about the director for the new Rey movie considering what she has said about Star Wars so far. I remember watching her interviews and how lively, excited and charismatic she was. It is so sad to see how it ended, hopefully it is not the end end and she is given a good chance. It is not her fault things went that way, it was the script. She looks like a cool person in real life, although she seems more reserved than how she was back then, understandably so. But on the films, she was not given much, there wasn't muc of a personality given to the character. And again, that is an script problem, not her as an actress. Despite the character being written blandly, you can still see her excitement come through the screen, but as the movies went on you can see her more and more jaded, which is sad.

Force Awakens is such a fun movie with such great pace I just loved it straight from the off, could be my favourite, tied with Rogue One perhaps. The last jedi, first impressions of it were terrible, I was so bored I almost stopped watching after 90 mins, didn't feel like a star wars movie, but honestly seemed so much better when I watched it a 2nd time when I knew what to expect. I still know some guys that are pretty hardcore star wars fans that to this day, were that burned by the last jedi they haven't watched rise of skywalker. Crazy lol.

The cast was never the problem. On the contrary, at the time these talented young artists and the technical teams gave themselves body and soul in respect to the saga of sagas and the work of George Lucas. It is the producers, writers and directors who are the only ones responsible for the messy failure of what has been called "the sequel trilogy". I hope they learned their lessons so as not to repeat the worst missteps in cinema history.

I hope it’s a good script, but the person to direct this movie should’ve been Bryce Dallas Howard, who really understands Star Wars. Sharlene Obaid -Chinoy is busy gaslighting men, for some reason. If she fails then there is nowhere for the franchise to turn, so it’s important that Dave Filoni has a firm grip on the editing of the script, and maybe the movie as well. Daisy deserves to have a good path forward in the franchise, instead of the waffle they gave her in TLJ and TROS. She needs proper training, so time to hire the big guns and bring back Mace Windu.

Daisy was great as Rey. Problem was always the Scripts and how confusing the movies became without a natural progression from the 1st to the 3rd. It was all over the place. Not to mention, how they treated Luke's character. Might as well not have him in the movies at all, if you're going to just trash him. That's just scratching the surface really, there were plenty of other characters that were shockingly inconsistent as well.

Unlike most people in the comments section here (well, isn't that the same with almost any other video?), I also have nothing personal against the actors as their job is literally to act, but it's not unusual for some actors to go beyond their position in order to help with (or at least) making the stories look better than what the writers originally came up with. This wasn't the case with Ridley, obviously. Any sane person knows that the so-called "sequels" are as bad as most of the other SW crap that Disney produced. If Daisy Ridley is smart about this, especially after the horrendous ST, then she won't play her character again, unless Disney retcon themselves, and she won't help Disney cause another disaster. So, again, nothing personal against her or other actors, but if she chooses to go on the same path as Disney dictates and regardless of potential negative pre-production feedback, then I see no reason why not to blame her the same as the writers, and this applies to any other actor, writer, producer, director, shareholder and doesn't matter if it's a movie or a series. Disney already made her character stupid by destroying everything George Lucas created. The fact that they decided to make her "Rey Skywalker", is just unforgivable.

She's basically getting what should have been Luke's story - rebuilding the Jedi Order. I don't blame her for the sequels, I largely blame Abrams and his lack of imagination but if I was her, I'd have turned down the offer to return. Not because she's bad or anything but because she represents a part of Star Wars that a lot of people want to move on from and forget even happened. I used to think Star Wars movies would always be sure-fire hits but I can see this movie bombing and not just because half of the audience hates the sequels. I think even a lot people who like the sequels want to move away from this time period and focus on something else, like KOTOR or even a jump into the distant future.

Exactly they swapped out Luke and gave her his story purpose which made long time fans upset. Its not the actress fault. As an actor you do what is expected of you and read the script as written. All they can do now is play the hand they have Luke is dead and Rey is the future of the Jedi, they can't remake the sequel trilogy. Rey is the capstone of Disney Star Wars, there is no getting around that. the park was about her, the sequel was about her. They aren't going to erase her.

If you're someone who doesn't like Rey and doesn't want the Rey film, then do us all a favour and stay well clear of it. People should be going into this film (or any film for that matter) with an open mind and no pre conceived notions, regardless of whether Disney deserve that of us or not. But we have an opportunity to see Rey appear in a well written film, where her character is fleshed out by danced and intelligent writing. Daisy is an incredible actress and it will be exciting to see her come back!

I liked her but the handling of most of the sequel trilogy was chaos and really off. Like, I didn't mind if Finn, initially, was thought to not be something but I think he should have been the surprise twist to have force abilities. Meanwhile, they should have played up that even that cave couldn't read her and that making her a much bigger mystery. Also, if they had to go with Palpatine... They needed to provide a proper reason. Not to mention, they have to stop trying to get people to be all in on every piece of Star Wars media, to be able to read between the lines.
