Make Living Soil by Adding Organic matter in the soil. Adding Organic Matter to the soil increases microbial activity in the soil. Soil microbes such and Protozoa and beneficial fungi are need for the survival of plants. Organic matter such as Compost, Horse Manure, Chicken Manure, Cow Manure, Worm castings, and woodchips does wonders for your plants.

Oh.....you are SO correct about the taste difference between store bought tomatoes & self, organic grown tomatoes! My husband REFUSES to buy or eat store bought tomatoes, anymore....thus, we just started growing our own organic tomatoes, in our apartment! I will go out and "harvest" earthworms, after a rain.....I never knew the importance of the living soil. So, thank you....again for much needed advice & your teaching!

I started a veggie patch with very little money in August 2021, I planted 7 trees from cuttings or seed, 4 survived. My soil is very poor, but even so it is slowly getting better as what I grow turns into compost with time. When the trees get bigger it will supply even more. I dug a trench in my front yard to catch water from my roof, when winter comes it will soak into the soil and I will plant more trees around it as well as garlic and asparagus. It will get better.

I like all of your videos, Sir. They are very informative and very useful. I strongly agree with you on making our own compost from kitchen scrap. At home, my wife wants to put the vegetable cuttings generated everyday in the kitchen in the compost pile in our backyard. My Father used to feed the kitchen scrap to our cows, and compost the cow dung to use it in our paddy field in India. I am so glad that I came across your channel. You have given credit to all the entities whose products you used to make your videos, which very few KZbinrs do. Keep up the excellent work. You mean very well in your videos to do good to others by providing well proven technologies and from your years of experience. Can I be a buttinski grandma and offer a note of encouragement? Start shifting your thinking from saving $ to buy something - to "how else could I do this?" I gathered old sticks and logs for raised beds and it was fabulous! The branches held water and created a composting edge (like a hugelkulture garden). Or use rocks-- which add minerals to the soil. This is an old video. Curious how you are doing

In the fall I have lots of apples and pears that are not harvested so what I do is dig a big hole in my garden a 2' deep hole X 1 1/2' wide and fill it with the apples and pears then crush them with a 4 x 4 and cover them with dirt and let nature turn them into compost.

Most manure contain good amount of Phosphorous. You can also buy mineral phosphorous which is natural and can be used for organic gardening.

What a thorough information. Amazing how you make your owm compost. I am following your steps from your every video. Need your advice in something. I added potash in my tomato plant and a little in every plant of mine. Everything was fine until my bottlegourd leaves started curling and eventually the plant stopped growing and is on the verge of dying. Why its happening is it cos of potash. Plz help what shall l do?

Potash will raise the pH level of your soil and makes your soil alkaline. Check the pH level of your soil, tomatoes doe well in 6.0 to 6.8 pH so if your soil is more thank 6.7 or so, you will need to make your soil more acidic. Also add calcium to your soil. Either add crushed egg shells which takes a while to decompose and provide calcium to soil or add elemental calcium.

Jag, fire ants get into compost piles, garden beds, worm beds...everything. I'm talking ant beds and not jist a few passersby. DE, when wet doesn't work, and beds and compost piles are always moist. I chase the piles with DE but just too many ants in N FL, and have tried a few essential oils around perimeters of beds, to no avail. Any tips, please. N FL
