Thank you! I have been propagating store bought herbs and veggies for one year. Now I have way too much, and am over-winter growing tomatoes, Jalapeños, Sweet Bell Peppers, Ginger, Garlic, Potatoes, Basil, Oregano, Chives, Mint, Onions over the winter, by using a grow light and lots of talking to them. My veggies & herbs are growing beautifully. By trial & error, I have been doing well growing store bought foods, and even started the herbs in a shot glass of water after splicing the stem, for 2 days, then plant the stem in soil. They all are doing great. I never knew about the corn, Eggplant, Mustard greens, Spinach, Peas, green beans, etc. So thank you so much for providing your wonderful knowledge! We all need this information about growing our own foods, considering what is going on, worldwide, with massive food shortages. I live in small town SE Idaho, while my family lives in Florida and north Tennessee. They are telling me how bad it is with empty food shelves in all grocery stores and Walmart, there. Here, in Idaho, we are just now seeing some shortages. But we can buy our beef from our local ranchers, and chicken farms, as they are now selling direct, to the public, because of these mass food shortages. God bless you and your family! May God protect you and keep you safe from the dangers coming.🤗💞🙏

Lots of hard work and knowledge in that video - so helpful!!! Just got done watching the cuttings video as well. This was the first year I harvested kale seeds and used them in the same year for a second set of kale plants. It makes sense to save them instead of having to buy new every year. Are there seeds that you feel that should be bought new each year? Are there any that you buy for yourself/your farm each year?

I make my own compost. It’s not enough for all my needs so I do buy some extra. I put all my veggie trimmings (no onion and citrus ) and some banana and other items like coffee grinds. What happens is I get volunteer tomatoe, cucumber, and pepper plants! I let some of my basil bolt and I also get voluntary plants where they were growing. I only grow 8 to 10 veggies that I have the most success with.

Very good information Jag. I noticed you mentioned it for tomatoes and squash but not for others. What about okra and pepper if you want to prevent cross-pollination? Can you please do a detailed video on cross-pollination.
@heidimisfeldt5685 Жыл бұрын
He mentioned those that easily cross pollinate, beans rarely do, but it can happen. Squashes and corn varieties are notorious for cross pollination. One way to deal with that is planting only one variety of each, or if you have the space, plant different varieties far from each other.❤😊
