Chiba Tsugutaka Sensei, head of the Daito-ryu Shikoku Hombu (daitoryu-shiko...) explaining Ikkajo Ippondori during a seminar in Wakimachi (Shikoku).

This is Daito Ryu. Aikido is derived from Daitoryu by O Sensei Ueshiba, who practised Daito Ryu before founding Aikido.

Finger locks play an important role in Daito ryu Aikijutsu and in Wally Jay's Small Circle Jujitsu. Surprisingly, Morihei Uyeshiba did not include this in Aikido.

I studied Kyokoshinkai karate and competition for years, but never seen Aikido in full contact action before..

@Alza actually I think it is daityo-Ryu.. Something that was a precursor to aikido.. Aikido founder based a lot of Aikido principles on daityo-Ryu which is actually full contact and violent.. Aikido can called as the calmer version but equally effective.. In the end any martial art is only as good as the practitioner.. Hope I have not offended you in any way.. Namaskaaram..

Cancel depth by pushing or pulling, or both together. Cancel width from side to side, again by pushing amd pulling simultaneously. Canvel height up or down. Cancel all three simultaneously and you have gained the dimension of time.

gray hair or thinning hair is always a sign of wisdom. .learn from an old master. .atemi is likened to a jab it simply distract. .followed by a neutralizing grappling technique. .aikido the gentlest of all arts. .but seems the aging master is not so gentle in his demos and and no holds-barred application to students which happened to be wearing hakamas meant blackbelts. .hehe
