my spool stopped going up and down. how do i fix that?

It sounds like the stud on the oscillation gear may have broke off. Pull the side cover and take a look.

Your reel does not work after this maintenance for sure.You may damaged the spring which is on the main gear that needs to be carefully placed to the metal hole which is close to the two small gears which you attached earlier on the pinion gear.

Just an FYI. The spring was attached back to the anti reverse. Also know that Even if the spring was left out, the reel would function normal. All the spring does is help hold the anti reverse tab.
