DAIWA CN-901 HP3 type, SWR AND 3000 WATT POWER METER,CLOSE UP......190 euro new..

Hello,having looking on you tube for some information about this model, i found very little,it was a little surprising because the model is a few years old,so if anyone is thinking of getting one,my experience is that it is well made,very easy to read because the display is so large,i dont need to put my glasses on,big plus point for me,for the rest its a lot of money, around 190 euro in Holland,it all depends on your budget.I look at it so 190 euro i am sure it stays working for 10 years thats 19 euro per year,or 1 euro 50 cent per month.something to ponder over,,,,anyway thanks and 73 from Rotterdam...

cant fault this meter, pretty accurate and very well made so much so i was that impressed i bought the cn901v vhf/uhf version, superb addition to any shack, thanks for the video

Nice vid from my neighbor hi, I have the same type Daiwa but also bought a LP-700 a few days ago, now that's what you call a station monitor absolute awesome precise accurate. For higher frequencies I use my Bird 43.

Hi,I have actually sold all of my swr and power metre, I needed the money to buy the lineair amplifier, which has a swr meter and power metre built in, but the LP 700 metre takes it to another level, nice metre, 👍, thanks from Rotterdam 73.

@@Bernard-John i’ve just bought the same beam as you have from marketplace 27/4 brand new for €100,- my tx is a ftdx10 awesome radio as you can see on the sherwoods list nr3! Better then any Icom. What amp do you have now? I’ve got an oldie TL922 from kenwood. I like the new Italian amps with mosfets expert 1.3 and 2k. BTW i’m located only 10Miles west from you to the coast😉

Hi Ben I just looked at my CN-901 HP3 and my serial number isn't far from yours, mine is 1609. I do not care for how long the hang is when the PEP switch on the rear is on. Because after I un-key and the other guy is answering be the meter is still falling when he un-keys. I got the schematic for the meter just now and I think it is a electrolytic capacitor that causes this. This maybe could be changed to another value to speed it up by about half. If you would like to have a copy to go along with your manual I would be happy to send it to you. Dave de W4DRA

A true peak meter requires electricity to work correctly - if you unplug does it still show the exact same PEP peak numbers?

Hi,what I remember the meters worked without power, but the led lights would not come on,I've sold the 2 Dawia Cross hair meters, needed a new toy 😀,,,,thanks from Rotterdam 👍

I have this meter..Peak hold function does not work unless it has 12v power to it.It is a true peak reading meter.

on SSB they are not realy correct let say in 65 the 901 wil display about 45 watt only . fine meters for AM/FM but not on ssb

Shame where I bought it from just turned there backs on me and pushed me back out the door! It's a great meter...just a shame it dont work ! Many thanks. Andy

@@andyholloway2549 sorry to hear that,not much you can do in that situation,,i think a good and accurate SWR AND POWER METER are very important more so if you use a linear amp,i had a KPO digital swr/power meter,but wired it up the wrong way,now its only good for an ashtray,and i dont smoke anymore,dont buy second hand,but i think you know that,good luck,73 from Rotterdam.

@@Bernard-John yeah I hear that, NEVER buy second hand . I am waiting here for the KPO to come back in stock, I have had my eye on one for a while but out of stock here.. I guess I must got unlucky with the Diawa, theres always a bad egg.. I love the meter, it was accurate and the large display is great... The SWR on mine still works fine, just the power measurement is over 2x? Never mind.... 73's

@@andyholloway2549 hi,yes shit happens,i look at it this way,for example,if the swr/power meter cost 200 euro,mostly it will last for 10 years,taking care of it,thats 20 euro per year or 1 euro 50 cent per month,i think??,good luck
