8.1:1 is a lot of line pickup...

@@fadelover123 yes thats the aim. Where i fish the depth is around 50 to 100 meters and fish are small considering US waters. Its a pain to wind on slow reels for a rather small fish. There are chinese reels that can go 9.1:1 but not saltwater durable.

@@Drkns_Tr maybe you havent fished a high pickup baitcaster for that application yet but, in my experience, it is very difficult to crank under pressure with the higher gearing especially when bottom fishing. The 6.3:1 would be a better option, anything above it is made for fast retreiving jigs. Honestly the lower line pickup reels were specifically made for bottom fishing in general.

@@fadelover123 Yes You are correct for rather big fish fighting you but as I said my target is smaller fish and the faster you take fish out the faster you go down and thats what I am after, and the thing is 8.1:1 on right hand exists but not on left hand. Why? Does it exist but out of stock or not being produced at all. Nobody can answer me so far.

Would burn out the drag. These are great for short power use but not to sustain for log periods specially under the pull of a 100lb tuna... I'm sure it might do it if you're not spooled but you ruined your drag washers for sure..

@@vash347 hahaha you clearly havent fished sny high end reels. I have the Lexa tw 400 and i landed a 100+lb batray on it, the fish pulled 250+yards of line with 15lbs of drag on the forst run, and pulled another 300 yards throughout the fight. Took 2 hours to land. Thats a substantial amount of pressure on all the reels internals. Its also landed black seabass up to 80lbs and leopard sharks 5ft. I serviced it a few weeks ago and NOTHING had wear. Not the gears, not the drag washers, no bearings were replaced. These reels use carbon fiber drag discs not felt, you cannot burn them out unless they is thousands of yards of line pulled with 100lbs of drag.

Also ive seen the lexa tw 400 land 150lb bluefin on United Composites rods with 0 issues or problems afterwords. I landed a 70lb bluefin on my komodo 463p and that fish didnt fight half as hard as the 100lb batray i caught, so im positive the lexa 400 can land 100lb bluefin even though it wouldnt be convenient
