I've lost a few C clips and spent too much time searching my work area with a magnet for one that flew away. Harbor Freight sells a plastic box of C clips for a few dollars. Most sizes likely won't ever be used but the two smallest in the assortment are great for reels. I've had to spread the ears or pinch them closer with pliers but something has always worked.
