Thanks for this informative video. I have an Emcast 5000 reel, and was wondering if you knew how to remove the rotor. On most spinning reels, there is one or more washers and a gear on top of the shaft. You just pull these washers and gear off, then the rotor can be removed by just sliding off the shaft (after removing the retaining nut). On the emcast, there's a metal washer that seems to be part of the shaft. This washer keeps the rotor from being removed by sliding off. Seems like the shaft has to be removed along with rotor.

hello friend, my daiwa bg 5000 drag knob stopped locking the line, just does not work anymore, I believe it broke something internal, would know how to fix it? I also have a daiwa bg 8000, just changed the friction cover and everything worked, but I just don't find this piece to buy anywhere.

I bought an old spinning reel, but it's drag won't work, the other mechanisms seems to work properly but the spool don't budge even if I loosen the drag cap. Do you have suggestions on how I fix the problem.
