Great review Mr Holden. Always use Daiwa rods, have done since the Moonraker days, have a pair of Tournament Surfs, they are excellent rods. These new Sandstorms look good, may get a pair to play with.

John thank you for your time doing these videos . At last there is someone putting together a decent honest review on everyday tackle and the videos compliment your written reviews very nicely . I myself over the years have fished with many a different rod and reel but recently have found a new love for my old Daiwa 126awb matched to a 7ht black and it’s a joy to use . Would you have any suggestions on a modern day equivalent to the awb.? Please keep the reviews coming it is what I have been waiting for and I suspect a lot of other anglers also . 👍

I'd stick with the 126AWB. I will be hard to find a direct equivalent because today's designs and materials are so different. That said, Century's new Fireblade is worth a look. And the new Sandstorm is really nice - choices are 12ft6in, 13ft6in or 14ft.

You for real, 150 yards with a little cast like that.. excellent bud. I had two rods picked out, both good and bad reviews and a little cheaper. I think though its worth the extra £55 for a better brand/make.
