Great video! I was hesitating on 103 vs 80 and after watching this I ordered a 80HL. Tight lines! 🎣

There are many complaints about Daiwa reel bearings coming from the factor with dry bearings, likely leading to the buzz you are hearing on the cast. I small drop of oil usually fixes this.
@TTangOutdoors Жыл бұрын
My Tatula 100 CT came in dry and I didn't realize that was a thing as it was my first baitcaster. Later I oiled the reel and it felt so different and so much smoother on the cast and retrieve.

Thanks for the review. I have enjoyed my Tatula TW 80. I can say I have not noticed that loud casting noise with mine. I ordered it from Japan Lure Shop.

Essa barulho que a Tatula 80 faz no arremesso vi em um vídeo resolvendo ele com a retirada de uns 10 metros de linha do carretel, deixando ela com menos linha do que o habitual. Isso resolveu o barulho no arremesso.

I've had the 80 for about a month from Japan and was getting the same exact noise after a week from heavy use. I took it completely apart lubed, greased it and its quiet and runs smooth now. Seems like they come dry from factory.

About loud sound on cast: i think that mono, which you use is too hard. Can you try it on soft fluorocarbon or PE line? I saw it once on another Daiwa's reel.
@THEREELTEST2 жыл бұрын
Not the mono.. this mono I use is the slickest mono in the world.. it feels like it has oil on it. The SV was quiet using the same mono
@bgfjb19954 ай бұрын
That makes no sense lol the mono he uses is too hard? 😂 mono is softer than any fluoro ever made and definitely quieter than braid. That noise was dry bearings but he doesn’t believe you should have to oil or grease a new mainstream reel. And the spool being a little too loose but Daiwa puts the tension exactly where it’s supposed to be on every single zero adjuster reel they ever make evidently.

I bought the "right" version of baitcaster reel last year when I made the move from fishing exclusively spinning reels, and now I have to switch hands after every cast too. It would have been very helpful if it had been mentioned somewhere in the item description that right-handed anglers should purchase the "left" (crank mount orientation) version to avoid switching hands. Buying too close to the departure date for my fishing trip left me unable to return the reel for exchange. It's not the end of the world, but it seems like a mistake that more people than just me have made. On the bright side, when I'm fishing with my bros, I am often in a spot on the boat where it's more difficult to get a cast off fishing righty (and still fish the shoreline). So, as I improve my lefty casting, I end up with more versatility than before.. but I seriously doubt I'll ever be as proficient casting lefty as I am righty.
@walden62722 жыл бұрын
Most people cast with their right hand then swap to holding the rod with left hand. Of course if you buy the leftie version, you don't have to switch hands.

I like the reviews, but these test would be a lot more accurate if done on land with yardage marked off. By casting in a lake or pond everything is guesswork. All around better reviews with the most accurate information possible. As far as noise I believe you may have a bad reel.

It is not just the Tatula 80 that has some bad bearing noise out of the box. I recently purchased two new 100HSL's and they each developed that noise after a the first couple of days, I oiled the bearings and put a little grease on the main gear and it was much better.
