Daiwa for the price they should have better hooks on their lures. Was at the end of the Mitchell river today and had a bream straighten my kawamutu hook (fortunately he ended up being foul hooked on the 2nd hook, but for the price they could do with better quality hooks). Pay $21 for a lure u expect it to work well out of the packet not be fiddling around with pliers and rings after your 2nd hook up.

When fishing boat hulls, I think it’s best to always try a few boats each day varying between a slow roll and twitch. Once you start catching just keep going!

Great video, watched this with my father in law who's a farmer, ran through the gear, exist, near 1k, rod, maybe 350, boat, nice boat maybe 60k, he saw you catch the first bream and he yells "AND HE THREW THE FISH BACK??!!!!" I cracked up laughing

I wouldn’t mind seeing more lure retrieval techniques explained in your videos. Might even widen the customer base once beginners build an understanding of a few basic retrieves with different lures

Thanks for the feedback mate, we will include some more of this stuff next time! For this one, it was just a really slow constant retrieve that worked best on the day.

Ace Bream Session Tom, you Bream A.B.T. pros are Bream magicians, in an unfair and totally unequal comparison I’ve only caught one BIG Bream on North side of Spit Bridge. It went 41 tip. Wonder what you reckon about the idea I have to getting a Daiwa T.D Black Reel in the 2500 size. Monocoque. Do you think shallow or deep spool, loaded probably with 6lb braid? Using things like Cranka Shallow Diver Minnows.

Be great if you guys could show us how to use these lures. I’ve primarily bait fished and have a wall of lures that I’ve got no idea how to use. I tie them of give it a bit of a go and end up with nothing and put a bait back on. I’d be inclined to buy more lures if I could use them effectively and they worked for me.
@tomslater5742 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the input. I’ll talk a bit more about technique in future videos. For a general rule, Yellowfin bream prefer a very slow constant retrieve. No pauses, no twitches. If you get a bite don’t stop, just keep winding. Black bream on the other hand like to eat lures on the pause. So we normally fish lures for black bream with a “twitch, twitch, pause” kind of retrieve. If you get a bite while the lure is paused that doesn’t hook up, you just keep twitching and pausing. Hope that helps.

Sweet video as always.. did you go that rod selection due to being on the boat? I'm eyeing off a few of the Z series and the 742urls is on my radar.. I do a lot more land based bream sessions than boat.. should be alright.
