Hey All! This song was amazing! It's one thing to be good at your craft but to make beautiful music on top of that is what makes this amazing.

They sang "vesnyanki" songs in which they glorified the arrival of spring, the beginning of a new life, and so on ... An approximate text of the song Oh spring girl, where is your daughter, Chased the bulls for the gate (a). Graze the bulls, I'll sell the mice, To my darling on the glove (s). Oh you spring, you red, And what did you bring us. I also carried away, carried away, Three benefits of joy. Three benefits, joys, And one benefit of shepherdesses. And one benefit of shepherdesses, The second benefit saves. The second benefit saves, The third benefit of sideboards. A ratai ore juices, And the boarder creates, tokaye. Many words and combinations are difficult to understand and translate, because they refer to signs and faith, as well as traditions.

And these songs are usually have ancient pre-christian roots. And they were used as a call for the spring.

I'm a bit late, but I'm glad to see you're back to DakhaBrakha, this mini-concert of four songs is fantastic and it was the one I met them with, I played it out of curiosity when I saw their image, after the initial surprise of listening to them with those wildlife sounds, I found myself following the rhythm and totally caught by their music, thank you very much for linking to them ;) Since you were commenting about their history, I'll share with you what I was able to find out last year when I discovered them, I hope you find it interesting ;) The history of their formation comes from the friendship between Nina and Iryna since they were children and sang in a children's folk group. Later they went to study Ethnography at the University of Culture where they coincided with Olena, a classmate took them to meet the Dakh theatre, introduced them to its director, Vladislav Troitsky, and they ended up auditioning before him who made several suggestions, both in terms of how to convey the different emotions needed for each song as well as experimenting with Indian drums and African rhythms, it was at that moment that, by chance, Marko arrived, joined in to sing with them and thus DakhaBrakha was born. This happened around the year 2000, and until 2004 they provided musical accompaniment for the theatrical performances of the Dakh Theatre, and it was from that year onwards that they began to give concerts as a group. The band defines their style as "ETNO-CAOS", because they use Ukrainian ethnic music as a base, but they fuse and mix it with ethnic rhythms from other cultures and also current rhythms like hip-hop (Carpathian Rap - kzbin.info/www/bejne/nIXVhKZ_jpyCrdk ), but it is remarkable that before starting to create their music, the girls travelled all over Ukraine recording the most ancient songs sung by the inhabitants of the most remote villages of the country. Greetings from Spain ;) (Translated automatically by software)

Thanks for your genuine enthusiasm and appreciation of this amazing song. The best part of reaction videos for me is being able to re-live the excitement of hearing a tremendous song like this for the first time. I saw Dhaka Braka about a month ago at the Treefort Music Festival in Boise, Idaho. If you’ve never heard of Treefort, it’s really a blast. This year >430 bands took over Boise for 5 days, with concurrent performances at indoor and outdoor venues all over our beautiful town. The theme of the festival is eclectic music that you may not have heard before, plus up-and-coming bands. Anyhow, before the festival each year, they put out a playlist with a few songs from each band so you can plan out how you want to move around town (bicycles work best) to see all the different bands. This year, I stumbled upon DahkaBraka’s song “Monakh” on that playlist. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing (or seeing, it’s a great music video)! It’s still my favorite song of theirs and would make a great reaction video. Before the festival I told everyone I could that they should check out this band. They performed on the last day, outdoors, on the main stage. It was a beautiful spring day (which made this song, Vesna, particularly resonant). Even after 5 days of hundreds of bands the crowd could feel this was something different… better… I don’t know how many people were there, but there wasn’t a dry eye in the park that day. I think I cried from joy, from beauty, from sadness, or from rage at Russia multiple times while they played. The crowd was so hyped up and was enjoying themselves so much that I was grinning like an idiot the whole time. I was close to the front and all four of the band members made eye contact with me and nodded or mouthed “thank you” during the show. Other friends of mine who were in different parts of the crowd had the same experience. It was definitely the highlight of the festival for me (along with the Icelandic Eurovision band Dadi Freyer). In fact, it was one of the best shows, with the best crowd energy, that I’ve seen in the past 10 years. I proudly wear their shirt and blast their music around town. I would have loved this band no matter where they came from, but it felt really good to cheer for Ukraine, who they represented with so much pride. I hope our government continues to do everything it can to support Ukraine’s defense against Russia’s cruel and moronic imperialism. Long live Ukraine! Long live DhakaBraka!
