im not surprised IU missed out on guys, not everyone was able play for bob... after he left IU became just another team, noone wants go there ,,, mean while purdue has maintained itself after keady... but yeah theres long list of former IU guys who could easily be coaches .. no clue why not use them... and yeah indiana is a basketball state... theres a goal on almost every driveway... its a big deal here... got be talent here somewhere

All IU needed was a guy who thinks about Indiana first. Archie's "inside-out" recruiting approach is perfect. Proof is in the pudding with Romeo Langford, Trayce Jackson-Davis, and soon Keion Brooks Jr. (hopefully). All top 25 recruits, all Indiana kids. Btw, Alford got fired...

Alford got fired after 3 sweet 16's in 4 seasons. IU would kill for that. We're going to end up going to maybe 2 or 3 sweet 16's in the next 11 years. AGAIN. Time for a Knight era guy to take control. This is INDIANA.

Tough, bleeding passion and knowledge for the game, unaccepting of anything but perfection, undying loyalty to those loyal to him, and can dominate the state of Indiana in recruiting. Saying a guy from the Knight era will be our savior is just stupid. Whose to say he's got COACHING legend potential just because he played under RMK or coached with RMK? Archie has already said before that RMK was one of his biggest influences if that's what you're worried about. It's about what make Coach Knight so great, those traits are what we're trying to find in our new coach.

Thats why he was hired. Who would be more fit to be a Knight-like guy, that someone who PLAYED for Knight?? Nobody. Look at Coach K at Duke. He's a Knight era guy. Nobody knows how to be a knight-like guy than someone who was around Knight for years, especially their learning years when they picked up life habits and learned the game. Archie has zero personality. None. At least Alford is funny and has a good team atmosphere, and his players would walk onto the court knowing what it meant to have INDIANA written on their uniforms. @@primatein yeah when was the last time Archie got mad at a player? not once, during a 9 game losing streak! NOBODY in Bloomington thinks Archie is like knight. Archie is a politically correct, pat the other team on the back after every loss, hold nobody accountable for anything, celebrate mediocricy, zero personality friendly guy. Knight was the opposite of that, and if you don't know that, you don't know IU basketball. Knight had the biggest personality in sports, Archie has the least personality of anyone you have ever met.
