at the 2:02 mark, with cockpit Id letters "CD" is "Betsy's Biscuit Bomber", a C-47B built in 1943. It was flown from Paso Robles California making whistle stops along the way over a months time. It flew to Duxford England, coming by way of the Greenland route. The aircraft is part of the Estrella Warbirds Museum collection here in Paso Robles California. This aircraft's last U.S. missions were flying the Berlin Airlift, it was sold to Israel and was later purchased back from the Israeli Air Force and refurbished, there is an Israeli language sign painted on the interior that roughly says, "The only replacement for a Dakota, is another Dakota". The plane was a military transport it's whole life and never converted for civilian us. It still has all of it's original equipment to include that used for towing combat gliders.

All - thanks for the amazing support on this video, but I can’t help but think how annoyed I am that the audio is so terrible. I will make sure this doesn’t happen in future videos. Got lots coming up soon including the Birthday flypast tomorrow, so look out for that!

Well well well that was a treat thats hard to beat thank you so much for sharing that amazing video
Sadly for me, the day was a disappointment. The flyaway was delayed and did not happen until 4:00pm instead of 1:45pm. Then, the ten para planes took off and did a strung out fly past, whilst the remaining Daks took off and flew to the north of the airfield. Judging by U-Tube the 4th June looked more interesting? It was good to see the old flying ladies in such numbers, considering the age of the airframes. The day at Duxford on the 5th was somewhat frustrating, and I came away with mixed feeling, considering 30 or more Daks had been highlighted as appearing, the actual number was about 21?

Mark Finney Many people are frustrated at the planning of the event and the disregard to updating their website to show which ones had cancelled. It was still cool to see so many Daks in one place at the same time, but a shame that we only saw 6, at the most, in the air when really, we went to see them all fly. I’d say the Wednesday was much better than the Tuesday as the only highlight of the Tuesday was to see the paratroopers and the weather precluded that. There was also a huge special flypast from RAF Mildenhall on the Wednesday.

Simon G B Roberts Strange, I used to hear the opposite! I am aware now of the audio and I’m annoyed it has come out that way. I think it was a mixture of the wind and rain in the microphone, hopefully it doesn’t affect future videos.

@@AviationHighlights Try muffling the mike with a furry wind muffler...that should do the trick and use it even when you think there's no wind

Simon G B Roberts I have a ‘deadcat’ on my microphone and have been using it since this time last year. It hasn’t let me down until this video, that’s why I believe it was the rain as I have only used it in dry weather.
