Please advise how to select a beautiful houseboat with scenic view and good food

Please see points below 1. Location / view - the boats around and towards kabootar khana side are the best located and give you the panoramic view of dal lake versus the others which are more towards the insides of the lake and give more of a city / congested view - thus look on the map and select these boats / ask the owner the same. On google maps see dal lake and look for Sukoon Houseboat - anything close to this house boat or towards its left side for about 200 meters is the best location for house boats 2. Food will be a function of reviews of the houseboats and can be confusing - most of them prepare food from their home kitchens so best it to enquire when booking as to where the food comes from - if they say from their own "home" kitchen then you will get decent homely food 3. Houseboats on Dal Lake are available from Rs 800/1000 per night to Rs 25000 + per night thus depending on your budget you can choose basis points above. The top luxury one is the Sukoon boat which obviously comes with its price. You should be able to get a decent one in the location I mentioned for about Rs 5000 per night per room. Please negotiate and get a good price. Enjoy your stay
