I might be a little biased here, Dale, but if you’d hired me as your COO, this whole Lonesome Dove disaster could’ve been avoided! We’d have SOPs that required every intern to memorize the wisdom of Augustus McRae and Woodrow Call-‘It’s not dyin’ I’m talkin’ about, it’s livin’.’ Watching Lonesome Dove would be just the start, followed by a deep dive into the John Wayne classics and a short cowboy boot camp to toughen ’em up. Because no true cowboy would ever fall asleep during Big Jake! And as Call would say, ‘I hate rude behavior in a man. I won’t tolerate it.’

I am coming down there so I can SHOW YOU how to make a Boss Mare & OUTSTANDING pick-up horse out of that handsome bay. Barring any complications, I should be back on my feet by January at the soonest. 4... Porcupine quills; YOU MIGHT need to use Ace or 'Bee-Calm (both are OTC) on the horse, if 'stillness' is too hard for them. Definitely use 'Anbesol'. It's mainly for toothaches, but it's a FANTASTIC topical numbing agent that's also an antiseptic; win-win. Use the Anbesol on the affected area (right in where the quills are at), clip the tip of the quill with little wire cutters; this also deflates the quill making pulling out, easier & less painful for both the horse and you. Then, use pliers to pull the quill. Be sure to let me know when the most convenient time is for you, ... for me to come down (again, any time after January). 😊
