Old dodge trucks dashboards used to crack and fall apart. A lot of people started putting carpet on it to keep that from happening.

My 86 ford pick up came with carpet on the dash with previous owners name on it. My dash is not bleached or cracked from the sun.

The carpet on the dash is because Dodge dashboards start cracking and breaking before they leave the factory so it's to hide the broken out dash.

I was in FFA as a parent. My son and I were on the show trail hot and heavy for four years. What we lacked in cattle quality we made up for by hitting every show we could, all over Texas. He made Top 10 in the State in 1988, 1989, 2000, or 2001! That's "OR", not and. He was Top 10 one of those years, but that was great.

Carpet on the dash helps stop the dash from heating the truck up in the sun and the sun from dry rotting the dash. 😘
