You need to try the chatterbait at night especially on a night with no wind

Never been much on a chatterbait. I know folks catch fish on them, but all I ever do is stay hung up with one. Although I have thought about throwing one at night.

I wasn’t a fan either until guys in my club were catching big smallmouth on it. I’m a hardcore night spinnerbait guy but on those nights when there drilling the blade and won’t commit the chatterbait seems to work

Up here we throw 3/8 in green pumpkin with a craw trailer but on dale and my lake I’m using 1/2

While throwing the spinner bait, do you ever had one hit the blade on the fall? Wonder if a spoon would work on nights that they hit the blade on the fall?

yep I have had them hit the blade, hang onto it for a little bit and then reel the bait in without a blade. Don't know about the spoon, I have never thrown one.
