God I miss the RTD Era. This scene alone really shows that Davies actually knew the balance between comedy and seriousness when it came to writing the Daleks. He could make them the most threatening monsters in fiction, and he could give them a bunch of snark to boot. Moffat, you should've taken notes.

Counterpoint: there is no joke in Moffat's era that's as bad as the farting aliens or the Scooby Doo chase in RTD's episodes.
