This is hands down the best Dr. Stone reaction video. Having a scientist watching it is one thing. Having a scientist who has built a career out of testing obscure or random instances is another. @@brandonzhang5808: Total nonsense. There's nothing wrong whatsoever with "scientists" speculating about anything they want to. Also, I put "scientists" in a quotation mark, because ultimately everyone is a scientist, whether they admit it or not; not everyone is a good scientist, but that's a different issue, everyone is constantly trying different things and seeing what works and what doesn't, which is the hallmark of science. Humanity should start ridding themselves of such categories entirely.

It’s important to know that the girls who were “unbelievably” excited for the cotton candy were basically his nomadic ancestors who never had sugar in their diet.... so the “over the top” reaction is half anime, yes, but half true. If you have newborns who try sugar for the first time ever - their reaction is similar (while being age appropriate of course ).

The only real caveat about doctor stone is that the needed purity for much of what he makes is probably not feasible with only stone age tools. But if my biggest complaint is a doubt the ability to actually make a high purity sulfa drug or gold wire for electronics then its an accurate show. I also laughed so hard at the manual bellows for the blast furnace, thats another thing thats border line impossible but with enough determination/desperation could work.

@@smartomarplustax they were melting black sand, which is most likely magnetite powder. Magnetite's melting point is 1,583°F-1,597°F. A bonfire can reach about 1,100°C and in the episode Senku states that their furnace can only reach 700°C without bellows. He did add coal powder for a ratio of 4parts magnetite to 1 part coal which helps lower the melting point, be even then getting a nearly 800°C increase from just cramming more oxygen into the forge won't double the temperature. The real change that is needed to melt iron is to make real charcoal by heating hardwood in the absence of oxygen and then burning that while doing everything else they did in the episode. (It would still be super hard work to manually pump enough air to melt the iron) Its for this reason that the Greeks didn't entire the ironage until the bronze age collapse cut them off from the copper and tin that isn't a pain to melt, and forced them to use the inferior iron in the post apocalypse because its all they had. (At the time, the iron age was considered a massive downgrade from bronze because its they much more of a pain to work with)

I love how some of the things she was accepting as fantasy where actually acknowledged by the show. Like the bellowing of the furnace, in the show they gave up on that method, upgraded the bellows and got an actual rotation system of manpower implemented (Later even using automated bellows powered by a waterwheel) or how the batteries are never used for anything too powerintensive (Just bulbs and a radio), lightning being a giant issue because the storm came to quick and they had to be really lucky (using an improvised lightning rod). And lastly, she talked about how "Yes this is possible, REALLY HARD TO DO, but possible" which is perfect, because most of the show is about gathering manpower and simplifying the workload so that the manpower can used more efficiently, and ofc, it takes him YEARS

One thing I've noticed in a lot of other anime is that often times scientists and science in general are portrayed as the bad guys, or just dangerous and overstepping man's realm, going too far and creating some huge evil. Things like A Certain Scientific Railgun/Magical Index, Psycho Pass, Princess Mononoke, Steins;Gate(SERN), SOA, etc. So one of the things I love the most about Dr. Stone is that it takes the opposite track and highlights how important and all-encompassing science is, and how easily it can be used for good compared to evil. It's the foundation of modern society and civilization and if used right can improve th lives of everyone.

The lack of the scene where Senku first shows the village a light bulb makes me sad.

I hope they showed her the result of the glasses making. It's the best scene in the first season and what really cemented my love for the show in spite of it's... other aspects.

@@enderdrag6491 I could do without the more ecchi aspects of the show like some camera angle choices and poses. I can look past that sort of thing, but it makes it harder to show people who aren't in to anime and it could have been a fantastic gateway show for people who like deep science dives.

@@batosai3317 Ecchi? what? Dr Stone has none!. Out of curiosity have you seen any other animes besides Dr Stone?
@batosai3317

@@fighterhawk7727 I have seen quite a lot of anime, actually. Have you seen doctor stone? Scenes like when kohaku plants the lightning rod to make a magnet where you get a complete upskirt shot with only a carefully placed leg preventing it from just being a hentai. Or when senku gives ruri the cure and she is posed to show off her cleavage as much as possible. Or when kohaku is fishing in a fundoshi. TV tropes includes the trope "Ms. Fanservice" under kohaku. It's no eromanga sensei, but there were definitely camera angles and poses chosen for a very specific reason.
