Old Las Vegas is what attracted me to Fremont Street. I drove down Fremont back when it was Glitter Gulch in the '70's. The lights! Thought it was fantastic. When the Fremont Street Experience opened in the early '90's I was able to convince Penny to go to Vegas. She never liked the huge hotels on the Strip and Fremont Street was perfect. Even though it was cleaned up a bit the history was still there. We enjoyed The Golden Nugget, Binions, the Fremont, the Plaza, the Las Vegas Club, and the California Club. I thought the 4 Queens was an amazing place, but we didn't go in much as we played Keno and those other places had more choices than the 4 Queens. Ate at Magnolias when Binions was closed for a while and it was indeed excellent. I'll be eating there when I come back in October for the Notre Dame - BYU game. Great video as always.

Hey Bob...OMG I always love when you share a bit of your personal Las Vegas history with us. 🥰 You are so right, if you want history, and the ability to wander from casino to casino with no need for a car, they Fremont Street is your place - no matter what decade! I have found myself spending so much more time there since we started this channel than I ever did before, and my appreciation for it has grown a lot.

ONE OF MY FAVORITE VIDEOS FROM YOU GUYS. THE FOUR QUEENS IS MY VERY FAVORITE PLACE TO STAY, EAT AND GAMBLE IN LAS VEGAS. I STAY AT THE 4 QUEENS AT LEAST 6-8 TIMES A YEAR. THE FOOD THERE IS SOME OF MY TOP CHOICES WITH MANY OTHERS CLOSE BY. THE CHICAGO BREWERY IS DELICIOUS TOO PLEASE GIVE IT A TRY IF YOU CAN SOMETIME. THE PIZZA AND FILET SLIDERS ARE MY RECOMMENDATION. THEY ALSO HAVE A GREAT CHICAGO DOG WITH FRIES FOR JUST $7.99. UNFORTUNATELY, DON’T GET THE CHICAGO DEEP DISH PIZZA. SADLYY, IT’S JUST MORE DOUGH, NOT THE REAL DEEP DISH LIKE GIORDANOS ON THE STEIP BY BALLYS. THAT’S MY FAVORITE IN VEGAS AND CHICAGO. THANKS AGAIN F0R THESE AMAZING VIDEOS.

I loved this video. The Four Queens represents the 'old downtown (classic) Las Vegas'. I hope it never changes. Part of what made Fremont Street so special in the pre-canopy days was the neon signs and the thousands of light bulbs. The first time I was in Las Vegas was in 1982 and I loved Fremont Street! You could walk down the street and pop in and out of the many casinos. None of the half-mile walks between the resorts on LV Boulevard. I am so glad that I got to experience that on a couple of trips. As for your breakfast Paula, you and I have something in common! I like my eggs 'over hard' or scrambled. I do not like runny eggs. Ugh! If I ever get back to Las Vegas, I will most definitely want to visit Four Queens. In fact, it might be fun to stay downtown for a few nights. Thanks once again, Dale and Paula, for your wonderful channel 👍

Love that you showed the front of the hotel. Usually we just see the side from the fremont experience. Will definitely have to check out that's lobby and coral reef!. Thanks for another great video! ❤️❤️❤️

Whew, Linda, I hope you are all good and dry over there! There is a whole lot of water this week where it shouldn't be, and it's causing tragedy and heartache, that's for sure. We do love to walk around these places outside, give you a feel for where they are - because as you say, too often you only see that one side, what's under the canopy.

Thanks! I hope you both feel better soon! I love learning about the history..so fascinating to me. I wish I could have experienced Vegas back then. See you next week..I can't wait for Sundays to see what's next!

Thank you so much, Lauren - you are too kind! 🥰 We find the history fascinating too, and clearly we have a bunch of you out there who get into it as much as we do.

I heard about the floods in Vegas. I'm from Las Vegas and that was crazy. I don't think I remember ever a time that bad
@paulamckenzie2 жыл бұрын
These are not as bad as August of 2003...when the worldwide news was showing fire trucks floating in water. THAT was worse than this one, I think...because it affected the whole valley, not just the resorts.

Yep I think there's a lot of that going around - not as bad as January, when everybody everywhere was sick, but still annoying. Hope you recovered fully! 😊

I've stayed at the Four Queens many times through the years. Always enjoyed my stays there. The employees are the best, from Front Desk, Cashier Cage, Restaurant Servers, they are great. Something I found out a year or so ago, Magnolia's has another dining room behind the Veranda area so it's much larger than it looks.

We love hearing endorsements directly from our viewers who have had good experiences at these spots - thank you for writing! And yes, I did see those other rooms and did a quick pan of them, but they didn't fit into the piece very well so we didn't include them.

Your videos are a great source of information for anyone!! I've been to 4 Queens for a stay once or twice 20 years ago. It was a very small comfy room. I wonder now with all of the bands if it's so quiet...
@paulamckenzie2 жыл бұрын
I can't say from experience - never having stayed there - but some of our viewers are commenting that it's noisy, others that it's not. It must depend which tower and which room.
