Excalibur is a great property as long as you come in with the right mindset. It's not a 5 star hotel and it doesn't pretend to be. But I always find myself gambling there. To me it has a welcoming and relaxing vibe, but still upbeat and busy, unlike say Mandalay bay which can feel dead being so far from the action. Luxor to me has always been a great property to stay at. Eating at Dialos Cantina is a must for me. Talk about high ceilings! Love the atmosphere there.

I'm with you, Paula. I've been fascinated by ancient Egypt since I was a kid and went through the Luxor's exhibit of Tut's tomb years ago back when it was still open. Finally figured out the layout with that exhibit. FYI and in prep for the new exhibit: you can access Howard Carter's original field notes online for free. I've read quite a bit of it and the man was clinical in his descriptions as he found more and more amazing things. Didn't allow his excitement to show at all. I'm sure that onsite he was going bananas (OMG!OMG!OMG!), but his writing, which is really good, doesn't reflect that. Also, for Downton Abby fans (me): High Claire Castle where the series was filmed, was the home of Lord Canarvon, who financed Carter's dig in the Valley of the Kings. Apparently there is a replica of the tomb in the basement of the castle. Of course, Canarvon was present when Carter opened the tomb and died a few months later from an infected insect bite, which was the origin of the much loved '30's Hollywood theme in several movies: The Mummy's Curse.

Years ago our family ate breakfast at the Excalibur buffet. It was the worst food imaginable. Powdered eggs, undercooked greasy bacon, sour OJ, and not one item that was above a C-. The pastries reminded me of staying at a Holiday Inn Express. I hope the Excalibur has improved their buffets. Dale and Paula make the best videos that promote Las Vegas. Their You Tube channel is the first channel that I click on come Sunday mornings. Dale is an excellent musician and you can see his artist talent even in the way he puts their videos together.

Great video as always. I've stayed at both Luxor and the Excalibur, most recently in June, and I've found the rooms to be clean and quiet, which is my main concern, as I do not spend a lot of time in my room. I've seen the show "Fantasy," and the Titanic exhibit which I enjoyed and recommend. I've also seen the "Bodies" exhibit, and while I found it interesting, it is not something I'd visit more than once.

My favorite spot! 4 Corners! I really like the Luxor. It gets kind of a bad rap, but I think it is cool. Thanks for the Great views of the corner! Excalibur is pretty cool. Wow...32 years! I doubt it will make it to 40. Wow! 39.7 Million at Excalibur. I did win $4400 on a slot machine at Excalibur. They have now removed my favorite game: Reef of Riches. I guess I will have to go to Tonopah to play it at the Mizpah Hotel and Casino. Johnny Rockets is pretty good. There is a Dick's and a Johnny Rockets in downtown Gatlinburg. Thanks for the great tour of Excalibur. The lobby area in Luxor is pretty darn nice. Aurora bar is pretty cool. I've never won much at The Luxor, but I do enjoy playing in the casino. I love the shops along the mall shops from Luxor to Mandalay Bay. I once saw Pete Rose there at the Sports Memorabilia store. The Luxor pool is very nice. That is cool that Paula worked there! That is neat! The tournament of kings looks fun. Just like Medieval Times that we went to several times in Myrtle Beach. Tina and I went to Fantasy several years ago. It was great! You remind me of the best days. At the front desk, because I had reason to ask...long story, the Luxor gave me the only room they had available. The executive suite with a strip view. OH, MY, GOD! I was going to walk around on the strip and I ended up just siting in my bed and calling up my ole friends and talking all night. Both those hotels are good prices and reminiscent of "family friendly" Vegas transition when the mob left in the beginning of the 80's, I think. You friendly showgirl.

I’m right there with you on enjoying the theme hotels. I hate that Vegas is getting away from that. I don’t know if it’s seen as too cheesy now or if they’re concerned about offending people in 2022 with stereotypes for theme hotels, but I always loved the theme hotels. What’s the point of having one generic giant resort next to another generic bland resort? Give me Caesars, a giant pyramid, an Eiffel Tower and more. Add a Brazilian one or an Aussie theme with kangaroos and an outside that looks like the Sydney Opera House. How about a Canadian one that can be a hockey haven for all the fans that visit when their team plays the Golden Knights? Bring themes for the whole world to Las Vegas. It’s fun and keeps the resorts from just being more of the same.

As much as they try, You can't de-theme a castle and a Piramid!, And as You pointed out who ever said themed properties are a Bad thing?. I find both places very confortable, Shure the furnishings are a bit dated but that's because MGM has not Taken care of them properly, but they are Nice fun places and they know they are still money makers or they would of been razed long ago. Very Nice video tour, you're the Best!

I love the Luxor. The theming is cool. I was just staying there. And on the way out of the house keepers said that they felt that Luxor didn't get the treatment that it deserves from MGM. She said that they are trying to regenerate interest in the hotel, and that some things are changing for the better. So I'm hoping that means that may be MGM is taking a renewed interest. I just feel the same way that MGM pays a lot of attention to the higher end resorts, but as our check-in lady said, why is it that luxe or gets hand me downs rather than their own furniture? I love the theming, I LOVE THE LUXOR. Its unique and so cool. Kind of wish they had never taken away all the original theming. My only issue is that I did notice when we were just there that in the hallways in the pyramid, some of the wallpaper is starting to peel some of the doors are kind of beat up. What I don't understand is why after remodeling the pyramid rooms and it seem like they did a nice job with them. I just don't understand why they didn't redo the hallways. Now I love the Bellagio. I stayed there for the first time yesterday and it's absolutely stunning. But it's also 2x-4X the price of the Luxor. Steel said in the video whoever said theming was a bad thing? Thank you guys. I love watching you all and its so nice to see how much you all love one another. As i said before i can not tell you how much Dale reminds me of my grandpa. So thank you for always putting a smile on my face when i watch your videos.

My first time at the Luxor was in 1997, by that time they had already gotten rid of the river ride but I was able to see the King Tut exhibit - I've stayed at the Luxor once but I had a bad experience there, not through any fault of my own, I got locked out of my room, not once, but twice! The first time because of a faulty key card, and the second time when the battery on the lock died. Had to call the Luxor's inhouse locksmith to fix it.

Thank you so very much for the beautiful presentation. The only thing to mention is that I missed some of the presentation because of the music in the middle. I still don't understand why people insert music when the purpose is to inform people of something. Music can be in between but should not serve as an obstacle to information.
