Lore wise for most lightsabers had a button that needed to be held down either manually or with the force to remain on. Which makes sense as a lightsaber would be an incredibaly dangerous if accidently dropped otherwise. "oops the padawan droppped his lightsaber and now it is melting through the floor"

A good idea would be to increase the rebel range slightly and have a few rebels defending and some groups attacking with the Jedi

When you noticed that the rebels had worse range, you should've put them on freely moving mode so they could actually get closer

2:11 I would think it’s a safety feature for if you’re disarmed It automatically disengages so that you don’t have your hand accidentally sliced off or something Or it’s connected to the force sensitivity of the Jedi wielding it and disengages if the lightsaber doesn’t sense that connection anymore with physical touch Something like that

The irony about the hill battle is that we typically talk about the high ground being advantageous. However, in a sword fight, you actually want to low ground. Attacking from a low angle gives you an advantage because the person higher than you has to reach further to defend themselves while you can swing normally and take out their legs freely. If they attack you, you can step back a bit and still attack their legs. With guns/lasers, you can shoot at their legs and the Jedi can't defend as well.

2:05 I think the word you were looking for there was “extinguishes”… Most lightsabers activation switch had a way of “locking” it ON…however the majority of combatants simply used it as a pressure switch if the saber was going to stay in their hand… For example vader in return of the jedi using the saber-throw while Luke was up on the catwalk, that would be a locked on moment, but most others would simply maintain a grip that kept the stud pressed on
