Yes, actually. I'm not familiar with the individual unit stats but it seems to me that the jedi were glass canons. Their initial charge was unstoppable, but they just kept moving forward, diluting their strength as they spread out and finally being surrounded, chopped up into isolated pockets and completely destroyed. I don't know what the game would allow in the way of tactics ( the concept of a fighting withdrawal obviously isn't a thing here) but if the game allowed it, after that initial charge they should have been pulled back to the high ground if the game allows for that, where they could have operated defensively with the benefit of supporting fire and done another charge if circumstances required. At least, that's my take on it. The samurai units made the same mistake, but got away with it because they seemed to me to be a good deal tougher than the jedi and there were also fewer enemies at that point. They pushed too far forward and allowed the other team to circle around behind them and take out the far weaker ranged units in many places. Movie reference aside, if the jedi had kept the high ground it really MIGHT have ended right there.

The samurai did the same thing but got away with it. It looked to me like they didn't do as much damage but could take a lot more punishment. It allowed team 2 to circle around behind them. For the jedi, this meant they got surrounded, separated into isolated groups and once that happened they didn't last long. In the case of the samurai later in the skirmish, this happened too, but what happened first is the weaker ranged units that should have been safe behind them as well as those nukes that killed so many enemies were no longer protected.

The AI for the artillery had to nerf its effective range, or else the artillery could have been taking out landing craft before they could land.

One mistake in all the videos. The defenders are always built in equal lines to the full depth of the defense. As a result, the attackers, having a multiple number, bypass the flanks. (yes, it didn't help them this time, but that's one time) What prevents the defenders from being placed in radial lines: there are fewer on the shore, more deep into the defense - in the shape of a rainbow. It is advisable to rest the flanks against the shore or impassable obstacles. Then there will really be a head-on battle. Or come up with some tactics. It is more interesting to place troops on the battlefield. It doesn't matter to me how many millions of threads the author has set in the settings - I want to see a beautiful battle. Even if there are small armies there.

Also, notice no reloading or using the weapons as blunt force when engaged close combat and empty mag, on top of the fact that the preds were decloaked and not using energy weapons. The aliens, no acid blood so they couldn't just wash over and then as they die melt and kill more. A very base simulation.

Unlike the Cluster missiles, which fling a shower or corpses into the air. It's harder to see and so easy to miss, but if you pay attention you can see the circle of aliens just fall flat after the orange ball goes out.

Or friendly fire, also the amount of lead being sprayed at the invading group should've caused that melee advance to completely recede from existence to the point where there wouldn't even be any melee combat. Certain concessions were made to keep this interesting. Samurai and jedi shouldn't even have been relevant. Also there were some questionable defense tactics where the defending army turned good defensive chokepoints into bad offensive deathtraps.

why are the tanks not in formation doing laps around the men in one tight circle tank to tank 2 wide crushing everything that gets in range while the guns fire to the side aiming at anything incoming all tanks shooting from front sides and rear as they circle changing gun direction to shoot at the front as they go around behind still shooting in case they get surrounded they can keep all soilders and artillery safe and the mean standing on a pyramid shaped ground piled up giving rings going up so many men can all be in smaller area shooting in many lines not hitting the man infront of you because you are stacked up nothing would get close and if it did it would get run over by the train of tanks circling and firing guns also then run em over if soldiers artillery and tank cannons and guns didnt get them then you still got soldiers inside the ring, no predator or alien zombie is going to stop a tank that big and powerful, crushing them all instantly.

Why are the defensive positions so close to the landing area? Why not have a mile or two of mine fields and hit the landing parties with missiles and artillery at a great distance? Why not make them pay at a distance? This seemed like the weakest possible defense one could mount, while ignoring the natural land contours and advantages. The artillery, missiles and tanks should have devastated the landing before it ever got to the infantry soldiers.

There should be a friendly fire amendment added I feel. As that would add to the games evolution rather than detract. And a little auto strategy...as in AIs for both sides. As the flanks of the defending armies need reinforcement as they are always first to fall. Some strategical retreat would be an interesting amendment too I feel. Otherwise...the format is developing nicely. Can't wait to see what it evolves into in a few years.

With the rise of ai application we can probably get better and more creative ai to fight against soon. In the past, bot/ai will just dominate human through ungodly reaction speed and action per minute. However, balancing between fun and impossible to win is definitely hard to grasp. Maybe ai that will calculate the player battle/power level and automatically assign a suitable difficulty level will be game changing.

Safe to say the Zino's had the numbers to get the job done regardless of tactical positioning of the defence. That being said, developing some strategies so you don't get flanked or at least slow the process would be good to see as, as soon as you were flanked the whole eastern side of your defence had to divert it's fire power to tackle the issue so your defence as a whole lost cohesion and strength in concentrated suppressive fire .. It was only a matter of time with that amount of assailants but the flank sped the defence loss up considerably. Still, Good to watch regardless pal... GG
