Me too. I have some shorts and videos on my channel from boating by. Someone asked me about drone shots and I had the same thought as you. I figured the Navy would shoot down a drone within seconds! The Port is off loading all the containers so that the ship can head to drydock for hull repairs and it's bow possibly it's bulwark. It's electrical configuration throughout the ship will be retrofitted and reprogrammed. Once repairs are done, the ship will be examined, inspected, tested, and reloaded with the same containers. After that, it's on the shipping company until the Dali reaches it's destination where assessments will begin in accounting for useless and rotting freight, ship damages and repairs, and the destruction of the Key Bridge with lawsuits from the families of those that were killed. But...for right now the Dali is STILL a crime scene.

Why not load the containers onto another ship and transport them to their destination?

@@majeedalarasy9685 that particular ship has already been contracted for transport. to load another ship or, contract another shipping company to load their ship, would be even more astronomical money lost than made. plus, all the freight aboard is horrendously late, some partially damaged, refrigerated products have perished and rotting, some products unrecoverable. why load another ship?

The saga continues with this ship... As we were initially told each container's shippers (insurance wise) were also apparently responsible for some of the damages caused by this boats demise.. So it will be interesting to learn if these goods can/will be released & on their way to their intended receivers....Or are they still being held as collateral ??

The containers will not be released, as they have requested 50% of the value of the goods on board the ship as insurance until the amount of the salvage loss is determined...and this amount is impossible to pay.

The forward ballast tanks on the starboard side have been damaged during the collision. The debris will probably remain as ballast for stability for her next move. The ship will need multiple rebalancing as the containers are removed. A light container vessel is very unstable at sea. 🇺🇸⚓️

Those are "straddle carriers" - they move cargo containers singly or in short stacks around the yards after they are off the ship. They are only tiny in comparison with the ships

From that footage they are taking the stern containers off. I presume that the insurance now owns them?

Nope...containers are usually packed per destination so they are likley being removed to be stored in that sequence
