Femke Bol has said the same thing about the 400m Hurdles. She loves it. LOVE is the greatest motivator for these two athletes; Willie Mays and Femke Bol. I'm hoping Femke will be allowed to go as far in her 400m Hurdle love as Willie Mays went in his Baseball love.

Femke Bol has ran 30 races (double of Muhammad) so far this season (undefeated in all but 1), improved her 400mh almost 2 seconds, and run a total of 2400m in 6 sprints at the Olympics, out of which in half of them she had to run down 2-4 sprinters far ahead each time and she endep up with: 52.03s (Bronze, AR, and faster than WR 1 month before) in the 400mh 48.97s (6th, NR and 3rd fastest leg for the whole event) in the 4x400m final 49.17s (NR and fastest leg until then) in the 4x400m heats 49.74s (NR and fastest female leg, only 0.12 short of Bronze) in the mixed 4x400m final She's a 21yo and only started doing her main event 2 years ago... some peple need to realize she's not an underdog.

It’s no longer a two way battle between Muhammad and McLaughlin. You can throw Femke Bol in the mix. She was right up there with the two at Tokyo finals. In fact she was stride for stride with Sidney at the 8th hurdle. If she came to the US to train, she’s going to be a threat.

You sound like someone who Didn't run track growing up and all the way through college. Oh and Elaine did good but she didn't win. Bol, I said good for her, she is up and coming and has bright future. Delilah may just have had bad race, but after just winning, running a 52.77 she couldn't repeat, with that short of time she was probably jet lag. The race is about endurance, compared to a sprint. You know showing up to run is how they get paid otherwise why put yourself through that if not to breach your contract especially during Olympic year. Bol is just like Warholm in terms of maximizing ability level. Both of them use the left lead and remain at extreme left of the lane line around the bend, saving tenths and hundreds. As good as McLaughlin is, she'd be better if she understood the immense value of the left lead. Instead Sydney used right lead over three consecutive barriers in Tokyo. Edwin Moses always used left lead because he figured out it saved 2-3 meters per race.

@@QuamfyMarc you’re saying youngest in the field as if her and Sydney aren’t basically the same age lol Sydney will improve just as fast. Sydney is going to dominate this event the way Bolt dominated the 100M. She’s too consistent. You must forget how fast her times drop too, her biggest advantage over the other hurdlers is her raw sprinter speed. I’m more than confident Sydney will win Worlds 2022 but Femke could possibly upset Delilah for 2nd place.

The disrespect of NBC and its commentators for non American athletes is pathetic. They basically gave the race to Muhammad before the start, even putting a tight camera shot on her on the back straight while Bol was catching and passing her and then made excuses for her afterwards, ignoring that Bol also medaled in the Olympics and almost broke the old WR. She’s the real competition for Sydney for the future of women’s hurdles, not Muhammad.
@pierrojules
@pierrojules 2 жыл бұрын
Muhammad has always beaten Bol and she is ranked #1 (which I don't understand given that Sydney McLaughlin is the current WR owner). That's why the commentators were confident that once more, she would beat Bol and win the race. Bol Won the bronze medal at the Olympics behind Muhammad who had silver, and McLaughlin who pulverized both of them and won gold. The only one among these 3 women who crushed the WR at these past Olympics is McLaughlin. Bol is absolutely very little competition for Sydney McLaughlin.

Rough day for Dalilah....most likely fatigue. But Bol showed this past year and in the Olympics that she is the only woman on the planet right now who can push Muhammad and McLaughlin in this event. Despite NBC pretty much ignoring her in Tokyo, she was a factor in that 400mH final until the last 70m or so and was barely off the old world record. She's been improving every year and has really good 400m flat speed too. So at 21, I think she and Sydney are the future of women's 400m hurdles. Yeah, Delilah and Sydney are better, but no one should be surprised that the Olympic bronze medalist can and will beat them if she's on her game and they aren't.
