Mick Karn and Peter Murphy... icons... beautiful people.

They were only together for one album,no? Peter's a top man for helping Mick out when he got sick before he died.

@creatornat The shaved eyebrow look suited Mick so perfectly didn't it, it really enhanced his incredible face. I know David Sylvian was touted as being the most beautiful man in the world, but my vote goes to Mick for that title!

I admire the interviewer. I think I would be somewhat intimidated by these two artists ;D

For a greek cypriot Turkish mashup this went fairly well

@LadyGHorses ..thanks for saying so, I agree completely. He was already exotic looking, and the lack of brows and added eyeliner made those features stand out in a mysterious way.

@chrisnoaro1 it's my understanding that Murphy and Karn were working on a new dalis car album and got 4 songs completed before he died...they are supposed to be released later in the year as an ep.

@ariesscorpiorising , No the shaved eyebrows was an integral part of Mick's look and began in his Japan days as far as I am aware. I think he looked even more gorgeous with shaved eyebrows!!

It is true that Mick didn’t know anything about Bauhaus. He initially had Sinead O'Connor in his mind for someone to sing for the solo album and it didn’t pan out. He was fortunate enough to find out Peter is a singer, who happened to look for someone to write songs for him. Mick treated Peter like a session singer for hire during the recording and it obviously didn’t bode well for both artists.

@beepollen1 No he wasnt adopted by English parents silly. His parents were greek cypriots, and came from Cyprus to live in England with Mick when he was 3 years old.

@chrisnoaro1 Never said it was a popularity contest but if you are going to put yourself out there than at least one could do is be decent. I wasn't judging him on what the press has said I don't like him by what Mick himself has said and done. Funny you mention John Lydon I love him PIL is one of my favorite bands I also have his autobiography, that"s brilliant. I also love Henry Rollins I think he is a genius as well and another that's not exactly user friendly.

@chrisnoaro1 Then I guess you will just have to meet Mr. Karn and find out for yourself don't say you weren't warned about him.

Yeah never was crazy about Mick Karn seems very full of himself! What the hell is up with the whole shaved eyebrows thing? Peter should of done something with David Sylvain for sure that would of been something to see for sure! I heard the same thing PM that they did not get along that's why only one album but it's a good one! Thanks for this!

I love Mick Karn, but I must say he is not being truthful when he claimed that he knew nothing of Bauhaus, when all Peter Murphy had done up to that point was his work in Bauhaus!!!
@mattparks21534 жыл бұрын
I agree. The Bauhaus were quite popular at the time. He would have 2 have been dwelling under a rock not to be aware of him. Someone was lying.

Mick Karn was so sexy, very unique bass player too...but yeah, a bit arrogant...Always assumed he was of Indian descent or Turkish...Also find it hard to believe he was not familiar with Bauhaus before meeting Peter..
@chrisbarlow21315 жыл бұрын
Oh give it a rest. Mick arrogant?? Suggest you watch the interview with Sally James on Tiswas with Mick Karn. There he was surrounded by small children who understandably hadn't a clue who he was, along with people in assorted masks and at the same time being asked some pretty dumb questions by Sally James. Yet he took it all in good grace and was a real gentleman. Many bands didn't listen to their contemporaries because they didn't want to be influenced by them musically esp if they were eclectic in nature. And if I hadn't known Mick Karn , judging on his looks alone I think I may have said he was Indian perhaps. Many people who knew him in life said he was a genuinely nice person and a good guy. He may have been a bit arrogant not as a person but as a bass player. Then again who can blame him? His bass playing and sound was unique. Gone but definitely not forgotten.

@chrisnoaro1 Okay fair enough. I am basing my dislike of him on articles and things I have seen on him not of his music. As I said before he is very talented no question about that. I kind of think it's strange you know his music but not the man, when I like a person or a group I get to know both aspects you get the whole picture that way not just part of it.
@djhfan3814 жыл бұрын
@chrisnoaro1 Just because we don't agree with you doesn't make us morons just like because you do like him doesn't make you one either.. I have to admit I never liked Mick Karn not in Japan and not here either. He is very talented, but his overinflated ego just completely overshadows that and leaves me cold.
