One correction to his build, if you’re running two handed axe expertise, it does not stack with two handed axe on your weapon. The reason you run a two handed axe is because of the intrinsic damage to healthy stat and since it swings slower, the damage is slightly higher

Higher pit need higher amount of health, so your doombringer will not be wasted in many build

Playing this build myself, for anyone wanting to do this build. It is fun, but very slow until you get a lot of cooldown for leap. There is one massive weakness to this build however, you can not do all bosses. For example uber Andariel, you cant kill the effigies as they don't attack. There are a lot of other bosses that attack very slow, or mainly use mechanics that don't count as a direct attack from the boss. So you end up having to quit the run, wasting a lot of time.

I think the bash + thorns variant will do a better job in pits maybe up to level 110/120 beyond that you will have to go to the jump variant and fish for bosses that can be killed in less than 10 minutes.

I stumbled onto a pretty helpful tip for masterworking for the thorns build. Most people find a perfect item, then masterwork it. But i noticed that if you masterwork something to 4/12 for the 25% bonus, you can reroll that blue stat(with the 25% buff) to whatever you want and it keeps the 25% bonus. For instance, your item might have STR, %DMG, and LIFE PER SECOND. Life per second is bad for the thorns build so you want to roll that stat off. But Diablo seems to love screwing us over on masterworking. So, if you leave the useless stat on there Diablo will probably try to screw you and it will boost the useless stat. Then you can reroll that stat, lol.

how to deal with bosses? its basically the chokepoint for me now, at around 110pit. It takes up to 6-7min to kill them now

Unfortunately, this is the chokepoint of the build. Better gear rolls can push you higher, but it is going to be slow going.

Hey, question: The earthquake duration got moves from Weapon to Utility for tempering, so it cannot be put on weapons anymore. Meanwhile, almost all utility tempering slots are used for Thorns damage. Is this build still viable as a Thorns/Earthquake hybrid?

Thorns while fortified does not reflect in tooltip. It may or may not be working. You only have the bonus with fortify shield and it does have a higher range for scaling but if you land tough as nails you can take it

Hello, Thank you for all of the content. I am playing on console and have been enjoying playing thorns. My rumble/earthquake stack is capped at 5. What do I need to do to gain more stacks? Also, do you think thorns is more pc friendly vs console? I have 4 resplendent sparks that I can either buy a Shako with and go bash or I can buy a doombringer to continue playing thorns.

Doombringer is a big health & damage buff but Shako is very versatile in any class. I see no other usage for Doombringer as here. So choose wisely 🙂

Life is what you really want. Life directly scales your thorns dmg and adds to your survivability.

Leap cd needs Tobe less than 9 secs. Then you need to bind force move to your mouse wheel and use it. It's located in the key bindings. So you leap, then use force move to cancel leap animation and that will let you cast leap immediately again.

you need to pull the little maggot mob to you so needless aspect can proc for massive damage to Duriel. Rinse repeat. Little tricky to see them before they attack you from distance and die

So to start with I was incredibly impressed with this You can walk through high level pits like its nothing But now that i got to around 60 the pits are easy but this build cant damage the bosses at end of pits at all Making it not really any good for pits Works good in helltide and other spots But now that the equipment is leveled up to 8 I cant get any materials to go past 8 Not sure what i would be doing wrong as I literally have every recommended equipment from the build and even got lucky with the roles in 90% of it Missing one eartquake duration and have earthquake size and missing 1 thorns when fortified and got tough asnails instead

I've gotta be missing out on something crucial, or you've largely exaggerated "you've seen people do 130's with this". 94 Pits is the most difficult thing. I have ridiculous gear, majority of everything is GA gear. My Razorplate has 3 GA's on it. I have Doombringer. I have everything to the guide to the T. I have great rolls on tempers. I cannot, for the life of me, understand how this kills any boss in the pit.

me too man ... spend so much time and gold on this whole build because it was something else for a change than all the bash builds. i have the uber, great tempers and rolls, the exact same paragon and even a pit 100 is insanely hard with this... when i see sharpshooter and that brawler i just have to bail out because the only dmg it takes is my earthquakes... him calling this build busted is just straight up lie.. he even saying hes doing it with sucky gear to top it off.. go with bleed bash if you have the grandfather

@@Smashingg I run the build with shako just fine (because I already had it) and it gives the roughly the same stats as the ideal legendary. I drop the basic attack DR aspect. It gives a better HP boost, adds levels to all of your shouts for bigger bonuses and steel grasp/leap for improved cooldowns.

Hi! I'm a new player, please help. I'm doing a thorn build, but even with capped resistance and armor I got too much incoming damage. How do you heal out your incoming damage? I tried lvl 99 nightmare dungeons and I was deleted, almost one shot by the first, not even big mob on the map.

Nice video! I have now made an incredibly fun build which clears pits um to 70 so I can farm all the mats I need but can't kill the ubers lol. It's a Bash-thorns build with spawning dust devils when shouting which is really cool in dungeons and helltides.

i have a similar issue, seen also other comments mention that their builds dont do that much damage and struggle in the pits even below 100. as a solo player that doesnt have a doombringer yet, i think where max life is important is in these uber boss fights where you just have to stay alive no matter what. with imposing presence and doombriger, these max life GA bonuses scale crazy, so id say its pretty important to have them. i have been farming helltide for the last few days and still missing some GAs on my eq… also im still mowing through the pits to get all the masterworking upgrades, as they seem to really improve barb in the solo uber boss duels. edit: oh and obviously the more HP the more thorns, which is the main dmg output

It's for the damage boost while standing in earthquake part of that aspect. This boost works with the earthquakes created from leap.

You need cooldown reduction on your helm and amulet. Then you need brawler cooldown tempers on both rings. And finally you need boots with + leap and leap cooldown reduction tempering. Try to get leap cooldown to 9 seconds then you have perma leaps on bosses

Ok so im playing this build on console and can anyone tell me what im doing wrong because every now and then my barb would just stun himself after leaping and 100% be stunned after every single leap on a boss like hes getting fatigued or something? Its not a stun effect either because my skilled dont get faded out like they would and have to use an unstoppable he just leans over like hes tired

I think that might be a bug I´ve seen in another video where you have to force move after leaping. Doing this should solve the problem if its that what im thinking about.

@@MuederJoe777 yes it is I figured out that I have to move my character between each jump but need to be careful because I'd end up leaping miles way from the boss, on top of that "inner calm" doesn't work that well if I'm needing to do that as I'm not getting the 30%, but regardless I'm having loads of fun with the build hitting up to over 2bil in a few cases. It's no needed no, Jortiz with some greater affixes can actually be stronger than shako for the particuler version of Bash.
