This is great stuff Ben! Do you plan on doing a more detailed Dall Sheep series for the Member's only? I live in Alaska and so am very interested in Alaskan mammal taxidermy work...which is primarily what comes in to my shop. Thank you!

Glad you enjoyed the video... well the future videos are all depending on what come through the door.. I was planning to create a tutorial series for this Dall too but just becuase it takes almost twice as long to mount something and the hunting season is making things a bit crazy around the shop , I decided to just time lapse this one, as its much easier and quicker than tutorial... but the next one will get the Tutorial series.. However I managed to do a tutorial on a very rare Alti Argali Ram which will be ready in the future to be published. Cheers... ps. however the process and the lay work doesnt change much on big horns or dall... the majority of the differences come to you on the form you buy.. you just have to follow the same steps pretty much.

Thanks Ben@@ArtofTaxidermy. I look forward to all your mammal videos.i realize how important it is to buy the right form for the right animal. I'm still learning and perfecting that important aspect of taxidremy.

@@adamowen9936 Welome...One thing I strongly suggest is to buy the best forms you can find.. it means the ones that have been sculpted by the best in the industry regardless of their price.. they will teach you the proper anatomy.

Hey I just re-watched your wood duck video from a few months ago. What paint are you using when you do the bills? I have a wood duck and mallard to do. Also will it be fine if I mold and cast my own heads with 2 part resin with added white pigment ???

All the paints I have are Hydromist acrylic base , and also Panpastels for blending.. .. Yes you can pre colour the resin for base coat,, I have done that with bald eagles' beak..

@@ArtofTaxidermy oh nice!!! Do you think I could use regular acrylic paint ?
@ArtofTaxidermy6 ай бұрын
@@madelynt1615 the truth is that once you learn the skill of working with different paints, then you have expanded your choices for paint selection.. .. if you dont have airbrush , then I guess you are limited to acrylic paints that you can buy from any art store.. just make sure they are matt finish and not too glossy.. then you can water them down to get the desired consistency and apply very very little amount at a time.. till you achive you want.. as I said,, you can... but I assume it would need more skills to make it work.
