Saw them perform in Korea for the holidays when I was stationed there. LOVED it! And BTW, my auntie Cyndi was a DCC during the Tom Landry/Roger Staubach years! 😊❤

You can make a strong argument for the Raiderettes starting at the same time as the DCC as their origins and even their uniforms were similar early on. (The LA Rams squad were also very close in terms of notoriety in the 70s.)

Double Agents I was going to say the raiderettes are very iconic. but I think it all came down to the most well marketed. I think the Broncos would had been up there if they would have not disbanded the first time.

Met them in Bosnia Herzegovina in 2000 when they came over with the David Letterman Show and did a live broad cast of 'Late Night' back to the US from there. They were fantastic!

I don’t watch football that much so I didn’t know DCC was a thing to many people. Also the whole audition thing is very cool. The extensive training is like very similar to auditioning for Kpop. I am intrigued and will be watching out for DCC the next time the Dallas Cowboys play football.

I went to school with Carrie O'brien the one front and center. I wasn't popular I was shy in high school. She was visiting my neighbors and they told her I couldn't swim and she was on the swim team. I tried to tell her I could but she thought I was just too embarrassed to admit and told me it was nothing to be ashamed of. She gave me some pointers and said she'd be back in a few days to continue. She worked with me some more and I was looking at her friends and mine just smiling. I told her I had been practicing and wanted to show her something. I did a 1 1/2 dive off the board only come up and see her walking away. I tried to explain but she wouldn't even look back. I haven't seen her since. I never once said I couldn't swim, but I was the one left feeling bad. She has a twin sister Shari both very beautiful.

What exactly was it about the DCC that made them so popular, more than all the other cheerleading teams? At one point they were so popular there was a TV movie starring Jane Seymour which had higher ratings than the actual superbowl itself. What was it about the DCC that stood out from the rest?

Eric, the DCC were the first modern day sexy pro cheer/dance squad. Before them, there were high school kids or grown women dressed like high school kids on the sidelines at NFL games. Dallas was the first pro team to have a squad of grown women in sexy costumes who could actually dance. Everybody else copied but Dallas was first and will always be first. That's why they have always been so popular and still have a TV show even to this day. If not for the DCC, the other squads wouldn't even exist. Tex Schramm was the Cowboys GM who started the phenomenon known as NFL cheerleaders.

Please be accurate, not all the women are/were pretty. Of course there are genuinely pretty girls, but a lot are average looking but look okay with makeup, lashes, etc. They all are, of course, physically fit so no one out of shape.
