JR told Bobby that this was going to be his “masterpiece” and it was! He even left explicit instructions on what all to do to make this happen and frame Cliff. It worked to perfection! It took 50+ years, but JR finally won the Ewing/Barnes feud!

JR dying from terminal cancer, framed Cliff for his murder. Having watched the original series, I don't think that the characters Bobby and Sue Ellen would have gone along with that frame-up. The whole story line was very poor imo.
