Larry Hagman was one the best TV Actors there has ever been. He made the role of JR his own. He could never be replaced in that show. God bless him.

In the summer of 1980 Lorimar Productions (that produced Dallas) actually auditioned other actors to take over from Mr. Hagman (including Robert Conrad) as they didn't want to submit to his contract demands. However, when did a survey of audiences they realized that if Mr. Hagman was replaced Dallas would likely collapse so they gave in to him

Will never forget the summer of 1980 and the buildup to the revealing of "Who Shot J.R.". Larry Hagman's timing for a new contract was also up and CBS/Lorimar was actually considering replacing him because of his demands for a huge salary increase and profit-sharing. They tested other actors for the role and came to the conclusion that the show would essentially collapse if he left so they agreed to his demands. Mr. Hagman and his wife were also in the UK on holiday that summer and the British were also enthralled by Dallas. A tabloid magazine offered Mr. Hagman ~$100k to reveal the shooter. Mr. Hagman simply didn't know as the writers/producers had taped several different endings with different culprits shooting J.R. so that no one knew which person it was

I thought it was J.R.'s baby that Kristin was going to have. Then in the storyline she had a miscarriage and lost J.R.'s baby then got pregnant by Jeff Faraday. So the child that became Christopher was Kristin and Jeff's child Bobby and Pam adopted. The who shot J.R. storyline was bigger than life back then, especially with only 4 tv channels in my area to watch.
