This is scary! My Dad enjoyed Dallas in it’s day. He chose to call me (J)ames (R)ichard in honour of JR Ewing. Now I find that JR had an illegitimate son called James Richard. I was legitimate though. Couldn’t make it up.

He and Jock had a "Thing" for England. Jock had an Affair with a Woman named Margaret Hunter who was a Nurse Stationed in England during WW II. As for JR, he has an affair with a British Lady and James was the result.

It seems like this episode should have been at the Oil Baron's Ball, but due to budget cuts it was just a dinner at the Oil Baron's Club. The series didn't have a Ball that season.

She actually met him and they lived together at southfork However it all happened of screen. It was very strange cause they were in the show at the same time her last season was james first season. But they had no screen time at all.

@@donnn-ow4rj So true, I wonder if it was BBG who refused scenes with him, maybe because she didn't like the storyline. The closet they ever came to being on screen is Bobby and April's wedding. The camera showed the women including Ellie in April's bedroom getting dressed and then panned out to the hallway to Bobby's room where the men including James were helping Bobby.

@@radrobd123 yes true . We see james have a scene with clayton too in that episode fo rthe first time.. it was so bizarre they never did a scene with him and miss ellie. James was a god awful chracter tho.. plus could not act!! He was not even mentioned in Dallas TNT

I hated the addition of James Beaumont as JR's other son. It ruined JR and John Ross's relationship and James was not a great addition.

I never knew what was the point of bringing in another son for JR. As for the mother of James, Vanessa, Jr had been in love with her, but was already married to Cally at this point. Of course that never stopped JR, from fooling around in the past. lol...Unless it was to show JR humility after the way he was nasty to Ray Krebbs all those years. Ray had just left the show at this point, and so I wonder if the James character was meant to replace Ray Krebbs in a certain way. As JR would say, "Every family needs a half breed." lol...

@@caseyl3789 James was not a replacement for Ray. He was there to usher in the next generation of Ewings. John Ross and Chris were too young to carry storylines at this point. Of course, if this were a daytime soap, John Ross would have been sent to summer camp and returned played by Sasha Mitchell.
