If youre a real ball fan you know that The Mavs are rolling because of depth at multiple positions. We are not in need of another star, we absolutely do not need Butler and we should not want him. High level role players at the 4 position would be great but selling our depth for a very expensive third star would be a very VERY bad idea

Luka in his last 5 games: 30/10/9 3.2 STEALS A GAME 65% TS When he plays they haven't lost since the Utah loss on Nov/14th, essentially a month. The best defensive lineup in the Mavericks, include Luka Doncic (look it up) and 6 of the top 10 defensive lineups for the Mavericks include Luka Doncic. He is KEY to be a championship contender. He also has the 4th best DEFRTG amongst mavericks who play 15 mins minimum, only above him are PJ and Lively. Jokic is an average defender, he gives up like 2-4 more net points at the rim compared to an elite rim protector. Jokic adds 25-30+ points on ONLY ASSISTS each game. Jokic fans should not defend a narrative that is not true, Jokics best defensive rim performance was 2018/2019 when he was an above average/good rim protector for 1 season.
@rabeechowdhury4 күн бұрын
So during Kawhi's Avatar state essentially. I think given Jokic's size he can never be a minus defender. Being an average defender isn't bad though. Obviously you want more from your center which I get.

Just for the record, not counting the games in the Conf Semi-Finals when he was hurt, Luka averages 32/11/10 against Dort. There is no struggle there and other players are much better against him. People just remember the playoff games without remembering he was limping to and from the stadium plus constantly laboring on the court and suddenly unable to hit jump shots. Forget the playoffs and how Dort played him, averaging a 32pt triple double in every game against him says he barely affects Luka. And to Adam, Dallas’ bench scored 25ppg in the Finals (and Jones averaged 7ppg as a starter). They have replaced that 32ppg with klay (13), Dinwiddie (8), Grimes (9), Naji (12), and Gafford (12)….that’s 54ppg not counting Hardy, and in the last 10 games that number is 60 plus Hardy. They replaced 32ppg scoring with 60ppg including better defenders and you don’t see much improvement in them over last year. Please stick to commenting on Denver games. We don’t need you telling us about Dallas.

“Playoff Jimmy” is bc he was one of best playoff risers at his best, but he’s a HOF regardless as he’s 5X All NBA 5X All Defense 6X All Star Which all have nothing to do with postseason. Everyone ever who has done the following above is in the HOF. I agree he’s not a great fit in a trade NOW (if you have to give up a lot), but that’s bc he’s 4 months away from 36 yrs old when the playoffs start! IF this was 14-15 to 22-23 Butler (25-33 yrs old and All NBA 5/9 yrs, All NBA D 5/9 yrs, 6/9 all stars, and 5x/9yrs got DPOY votes) then it’s a no brainer, but he’s 35.75 yrs old when these next playoffs start! It’s all about age not the player bc any team would be happy to have age 25-33 yrs old Jimmy Buckets! I do think he would help Nuggets & Rockets. Also Adam falling for Murray slow start when his last 2yrs he had VERY similar starts then was great mid December to the end of the yr in 22-23 23-24 averaging 22, 7, 4, 1.5 stocks on nearly 50/43/87. I need to see more than another slow start for Murray to think he’s officially “done” like many Nuggets/Joker fans seem to think. I get the frustration with his health and slow starts (+ passive aggressiveness towards media), but even last yr RS he was 33.3, 10.2, 6.5, 2.5 stocks + 9 per 100 on 48/43/85 splits with Nuggets 61 win pace in the 59 games he played vs 46 wins when he didn’t play (23 games). His 2020/23 WCF and title playoff runs two of the best ever offensively for an NBA guard AVERAGING 26, 7, 5, 1.5 stocks on 49/42/93 including insane 54/52/95 in 4th averaging 8.1 PPG in 4th! Since last season late season injury he’s def not been the same, but I can’t just forget those 2 playoff runs or LAST REGULAR SEASON being 14th in OBPM, 19th in BPM, & 19th in VORP per game! It’s POSSIBLE he’ll never be the same again, but it’s way too early to say that given the evidence I just mentioned. Also I can’t get out of my mind Nuggets since 19-2020 WITH Murray they win at 54-55 win pace vs without him 48-49 win pace OR 32-19 in Playoffs vs 5-10 without. Even this yr with another slow start they’re +8 per 100 when he’s ON (that includes 3 games without Joker who is one of my favorite players EVER in 40yrs watching/attending NBA games) vs -5 per 100 when he’s OFF (and that was -9 before blowout win @ ATL without Jalen Johnson & Bogey). Love your guys podcast and chemistry! PS Kyrie deserves love for Mavs season so far given how well they played without Luka beating some good teams (5-1 averaging 121PPG with wins @OKC, @Denver, @ATL, vs Knicks). Kyrie in those 6 games when they went 5-1? 26, 7, 5, +5.3! Luka is obviously their best & most important player (Top2-4 in NBA who has had a top3-10 ever start to a career for any player pre 26 yrs old) if they want to win a title, but so far this year so far Kyrie > WS/48, VORP, OBPM, 6% TS%
