@connor_phillipz56893 күн бұрын
PJ fundamentally changes the profile of the Mavs. With PJ and no Luka we already beat the Thunder this season and in the playoffs last season PJ was the difference maker. So the core of your argument is false. That being said Pj or not we weren't winning yesterday with the performance we got out of Luka, Kyrie, Lively, and Grimes. Not to mention the turnovers. But that's why I am more confident about the Mavs beating the Thunder again in the playoffs than I was before the game. Pretty much everything that could have gone wrong for the Mavs went wrong and we were still in the game with multiple opportunities to make a run and take the lead. In a 7 game series I'm 100% confident in the Mavs beating the Thunder. Getting Chet back does not change anything about this matchup. If anything Dallas matches up even better with Chet out there because of his slim frame and inconsistent shooting. I am incredibly excited for their inevitable meeting in the playoffs.

My idea to fix the NBA and NBA Cup Ok I have an idea of how to fix the NBA regular season and NBA Cup. Ideally we would shorten the regular season but that wont happen but could work into this and make it even better. First off we bring back divisions. Winner of your division is guaranteed a playoff spot (not a top 4 spot but a spot none the less). This will bring back rivalries in the NBA and make regular season mean more. Next we introduce a selection show for the playoffs. At the end of the regular season we have a show where the top 3 teams get to select the team they play in round one of the playoffs (#1 seed makes the first selection then #2, #3 ). Imagine the ratings for that show where the team picks who they want to play and makes teams really want to get in the top 3 to be able to choose making the regular season mean more again. Here is where the NBA Cup comes into play. The winner of the NBA Cup not only gets money but gets the first pick in the selection draft IF they make the playoffs. Meaning they still have to play hard to make the playoffs but they get the first selection in their Conference if they make it in. This brings a huge advantage in the playoffs for the winner of the cup and makes their road to the finals easier and brings strategy into play. This all would make the regular season and NBA Cup instantly more competitive, more rivalries and teams fans don’t like and really mean something.

All those mentions of Okc not being full strength... And not one mention or how Dallas has been suffering from key rotation players out for weeks

That's because getting back Chet Holmgren moves the needle even MORE in favor of OKC than when the Mavs get back PJ Washington and Kleber. If both teams are at full strength, OKC still wins last night and probably has the Mav's number 8 times out of 10.

Maybe if we talk about throughout the game bit if we specifically talk about the 4th Kyrie is more the centre of activity than Luka is, plus kyrie is older cant really be the centre that often through 82 games plus they dont hide him on defense cause they do that for Luka so he actually has to defend a lot and loses a lot of energy there.
