The interior of the Southfork Ranch house is hideous and completely gaudy. And the argument could be made that wealthy Texans are “over the top” in every respect, including the way they design the interiors of their homes. But Linda Schell and Alan Moore took way too much liberty in “interpreting“ the show’s characters into their design. Schell and Moore should’ve done their best to duplicate the paint colors and wallpaper prints from the studio sets of Dallas. Instead of taking the opportunity to make the real Southfork house mimic the studio set as much as possible, they created an interior that has nothing to do with anything related to “Dallas.” I’m a lifelong Dallas fan, and I have actually visited Southfork Ranch twice. The inside of the Southfork house was always a huge disappointment.
