Turner is a beast! Bill B, Saban, Dungy, etc etc all rave!!! I've watched him tons, and he will be defensive rookie of the year. That Forness clown giving it a c+ because he loves a fast but powerless rusher who produced a whopping 15 tackles and 2 sacks his junior year is COMICAL! I CAN'T STAND his horrid takes. HORRID! Turner is Will Anderson 2.0. If not for extreme needs for Qbs, bookend tackles and 3 amazing game changing wideouts, this guy is a top three pick. Outstanding night. It literally could not have gone better.

For the people who complain about the lost picks, how many times did Rick only end up with one quality player, or worse? 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021... 10+ picks almost every draft and maybe one pick that pans out. If they can get 1-2 starters out of their last picks, this could be a great draft. Plus UDFA signings are probably not much less likely to hit than 6-7 rounders.

Rick Spielman was Great at Drafting! BEST pick Qwesi Has Was Addison in two years! He had Barr, Kendrick, Hitman, Adrian Peterson, Jefferson,...on and on and on!

@@timothyanvik5961 Spielmann's drafts from 2016-2019 were really bad: 2016 produced zero starting players. 2017 only starter was Cook. 2018 only produced Brian O'Neill (with Hughes being hurt). 2019 only produced Bradbury and Mattison (Neither one particularly remarkable, with Oli Udoh as a decent depth piece late.) Literally every other pick from these years was a total bust--never played any significant role on the team. 39 picks and only 2 really good players (Cook and O'Neill). Sure Speilmann drafted a lot of great players. He had like 16 years. If Kwesi sticks for 16 years, no doubt he'll draft a ton of star players. However, the reality comes down to this. If they hit on McCarthy and Turner, Kwesi stays. If they missed, he's probably gone.

Taking Michael Penix at pick number eight is not the same as the Green Bay plan. With both Rogers and love The Packers picked a quarterback late in the first round and let him develop. That’s not the same as a quarterback at pick number eight. Quarterback that are taken in the top 10 need to get on the field sooner. I have no clue what Atlanta was thinking.

@@cdou1301 Daniele Hunter is awesome, and he played a role in Flores defense that wasn't a good fit for his skills all the time, but he is a pro and great teammate so he did it the best he could at a high level. Turner is a much better fit, period. I believe that's what they're saying. He can go inside, outside, play in coverage, I mean, look at what Belicheck did with Hightower, who is the perfect comp to Turner. He is absolutely a better fit than Danielle, and I think it will show up right away.

Among the many ridiculous Reusse statements, the idea that a guy who has never played an NFL game is better than a player who has been top 5 at his position over a number of years renders him a fool. I hope Dallas Turner is a star for the Vikings, but apparently watching one half of an Alabama game is all one needs to see. I realize the statement was made in approval of the pick, but it's pretty disrespectful of someone who has no clear flaws in his game and was a truly great player for this team.

Reusse is crazy! Hunter is WAY better than Turner right now. It's not even close. In a year or two, we'll see. Turner could be Defensive ROY, as he will get plenty of snaps to make plays, but Hunter is one of the best rush ends in football right now! Turner doesn't know where the bathroom is yet. Report today: Raiders, Saints, Seahawks, and Rams were aggressively trading into the top 10 for Penix. I think the last month of the pre-draft legitimately did skyrocket Penix’s stock into QB4. Especially with Nix going 12, it’s not far fetched to think that.

I think it's clear that signing Kirk was done at the behest of the owner (Blank) and drafting a QB at #8 was the front office's way of saying that they and the owner don't share the same vision. The GM was flexing and did was HE (and probably the HC) thought was the best long term move for the organization. Since I actually like Penix more than McCarthy I'm not going criticize the player/draft position, but the lack of organizational cohesion makes the Falcons appear to be dysfunctional.

I don't think the Penix pick is a bad one. I can't stand Cousins and he was probably signed only because the owner wanted them to. But Cousins could suck, and he is old and injured and probably slower than before. He probably gets injured again, then they have Penix. Next year's draft is weak on QB. I agree, better the be QB heavy than QB light in the NFL especially with an old Cousins. Vikings fans should understand this, would have been nice to have Penix as a backup last year. Denver, Raider or even Vikings could have gotten Penix so Atl took him first.

Danielle Hunter was the youngest player in the NFL at the time of his draft, he had 6 sacks his rookie as a situational pass rusher (behind Griffen and Robison), the youngest to 50 sacks in NFL History (was on a historical pace before the neck and peck injuries), a perennial Pro Bowler and All Pro. This is how media kills careers, I love Dallas Turner but he has not played a single down in the league yet. Let's crawl, walk before we run.

The trade back with Detroit in ‘22 wasn’t necessarily a bad decision. What he got for doing it was the horrible part. A few years ago NO went up 13 spots (27 to 14) to get Davenport and gave up the next year’s 1st round pick to GB. Now most expected it to be a low first, but Detroit had the Rams’ ‘23 first which was also expected to be low. So that’s what he should have gotten from the Lions, if not more, for them moving up 20 spots. He got horrible value, which was exacerbated by Cine appearing to be a bust.

Leave the name pennix out of it. I like the pick of a qb there especially one you rated that high. Cousins is 36. The packers were criticized twice for taking Aaron Rodgers and Jordan love when not yet needing a qb. Chiefs didn’t need a qb when they took Mahomes. It’s rarely ever a bad time to take a qb in the draft that you covet…it’s not like the opportunity presents itself every year..2 years on the bench is no time. This is exactly what I wanted the Vikings to do, resign cousins a year ago (a lot cheaper) and draft a qb if one you like was in reach. This show seems to think it’s a foregone conclusion we have it all figured out at QB. Were you born yesterday? U yourselves have broken down the success rates of first round QBs. I like the moves they’ve made given the self inflicted situation they put themselves in at qb but mccarthy and darnold are no locks to succeed….and If we don’t have the qb figured out we are wasting a massive amount of money and talent in players catching the ball assuming they resign JJ to what looks like it’s going to be $35+ million a season and including what they are paying hockenson.

Yea how so? From what I get from the contract is its fully guaranteed the first 2 yrs and potentially a portion the 3rd yr. Terrible contract for the Falcons. Eitherway drafting a QB that's projected as a 2nd rd pick 8th overall, Is comical. You don't sign Cousins and not get him weapons.
