I’d charge as much as possible, take the money and run. Invest the money, find a nice retirement complex, travel, enjoy the rest of your life and leave a small nest egg to the kids/grand kids. 98% of the time they will just sell it anyway after you’re gone.

If you grew up around this area or others like it & see what's happening, it's sad. If you're not from there, it's no big deal, crack jokes. Just listen to what these people are saying, it's f*cked up, but it's life.

The area is not going to provide value for the new homeowners because it is a flood zone. West Dallas's value of the property has always been lower in an appraisal for a reason. It is next to the levy system which the city put in because of flooding. That part of town close to Downtown Dallas is an investment disaster area. Residents in the area understand city development but commercial investors are still trying to sell high and leave town when the Trinity River begins to fill and flood to no end.

Why aren't they improving the neighborhood on their own? Most places fall apart and then get gentrified while others improve over time as residents keep it nice/safe. They never really show how bad these places are before gentrification. The same happened in NYC, Paris, etc to create the beautiful places filled with art and architecture that we identify with city life. Take the money and move on. Immigrants move to another country for a better life, but here we have sob stories about but being able to leave a house.

@TheAnomics1

This is where ignorance is corrected because it’s not happening “everywhere” gentrification has always been an issue in black and brown communities specifically because they are just that much cheaper. I’m neighborhoods of poverty such as Black and Latino neighborhoods, nobody owns property, so it makes it easier for Buyers to go in and Buy up the land at a cheaper price. In America that only happens in Black and brown communities
@sistahb5159
@sistahb5159 Жыл бұрын
@@TheAnomics1 Now let me correct you. This is happening in BLACK communities more than anywhere. It's sad that many Black people have been brainwashed into saying 'Black and Brown." It's usually only Black folks saying it. When Hispanics talk about their issues they only mention Hispanics or Brown. They usually don't say "Black and Brown" when they want to attach themselves because they want something that Black people should have or fighting to get. In many sanctuary cities and states throughout the US 🇺🇲, in the last 30 years Hispanics have come in illegally in masse. They have been placed by state and local governments with federal money in impoverished BLACK neighborhoods & siphoned of the few resources we have - housing, healthcare, schools, English as a Second Language (ESL) & GENTRIFIED our communities. As their numbers grew, the more their ANTI-BLACKNESS came out because they treat Afro-Mexicans & Afro-Latinos in their home countries like dirt. They co-opted Martin Luther King Jr.,called themselves "Dreamers" & stated that MLK wanted everyone to be free. Yet no one mentioned that MLK was against illegal immigration because it hurts Black the most. There are federal & state studies that show & confirm this. They drive down wages. Present day, these Brown people do NOT want Black people to have ANYTHING!!! ALL of the BLACK men working construction 🚧 & more jobs have been REPLACED by illegal anti-Black Hispanic (Brown) immigrants. And now 50% of the homeless in my city are BLACK. A decent number are veterans. In Chicago, 73% of the homeless (in cardboard boxes the street & shelters) are BLACK BUT some illegal immigrants pouring into the city are being put up in nice DOWNTOWN HOTELS!!! They have been in front & given PRIORITY over the homeless. Chicago's also placing these immigrants in schools in BLACK NEIGHBORHOODS ONLY & previously refused the Black community to use these closed schools as community centers, job training etc... They are NOT being placed in WHITE, HISPANIC or ASIAN, & giving them resources that Black people have NEVER gotten. THIS IS BENIGN NEGLECT & GENOCIDE!!! These illegal immigrants care less about YOU or any other Black person. Chicago & NY are looking for jobs for them while Black unemployment is double that of Whites & almost twice that of Hispanics. YET you feel the need to include people who unlike your ancestors (whose stolen & forced labor built the the US 🇺🇲). I wrote this much because YOU & other Black people need to realize that the "Black & Brown" coalition is a MYTH. They are NOT allies but enemies. PLEASE WAKE UP!!!

You’re clearly ignorant and don’t know the history of the area, or don’t take into consideration how the lower socioeconomic and minority groups in Dallas and other cities have been treated so poorly forever and now are being pushed out of their areas. You might think that they can just take the money and go, but like this nice lady that’s her home, she can’t go and re-create That field because it won’t be the same people will it? And you’re thinking she might get some huge amount, but that huge amount might only allow her to buy something very far away from there so why would she want to do that? It’s wrong what’s happening to some of these areas, and as I drive around the city daily for work I’m very afraid that South Dallas is next. Some will say that’s great but south Dallas has been ignored for so long and taken advantage of by North Dallas and the elite and now people invest but just to take their land and gentrify it instead of trying to build it up like I should’ve decades ago. But we know that that was all based on race.

The neighborhood does not belong to anyone. Had the children been more neighborly, the property values would have increased and the neighborhood wouldn't be vulnerable. Generation is a blessing, as everyone would rather live in a neighborhood with dog parks and bike lanes vs. overgrown lawns and dilapidated structures.
@clayscloset2618
@clayscloset2618 Жыл бұрын
So please explain in further detail how the gentrification and the pushing out of people is due to children not being polite. That is dumber than anything Trump has even said regarding economics in a race and we all know he’s a bigot and greedy. You’re clearly one as well and don’t have any empathy for people who have made that their home their whole lives and their families have lived there for generations And you’re OK with them being pushed out for dog park, how sad. If you think it’s a great are you living over there already? Do you really want to live in a cookie-cutter neighborhood it’s boring? The developers could’ve done more to help the area or revitalizing it.
