My favorite part isn't the rescue itself but the times when you reassured the dad that he was not a bad parent. You recognized how he must have been feeling and you responded so kindly. To me, that is heroic.

To me, as an experienced swimmer, the river seems like nothing, but if I would have my two young kids with me.... That would not be fun. We can't blame the father. He obviously was caught in a nice day out. Well done divers.

Here is something for those of you who think the family could've swam across 1. The river is most likely cold. 2. The river probably has a fast current. 3. There were 2 dogs, and dogs have a mind of their own. 4. Swimming isn't a natural skill. 5. The children MAYBE could've been able to swim across but read my first 4 facts. And 6. THINK BEFORE YOU TYPE!! + side note: Great job guys! We need more environmental people like this who are willing to help anyone.

For all the people who say “Oh they could have just swam across blah blah blah” Well many people have died from currents in rivers. My brothers friend/partner in his classes sadly passed away from trying to cross a current. And the dogs won’t be able to swing across a current because most animals don’t know how to. Dogs may be good at swimming, but that doesn’t mean they can swim across a current. The water was cold. River water it naturally freezing because it’s fresh water. And fresh water can be pretty hard to swim across. They could have gotten Hypothermia. And the kids. The kids may not have known how to swim. Especially the youngest ones. They probably can’t swim across that deep river. People should really think logically instead of assuming things. Think before you speak. Or type.
