Because NBA GM's are idiots, they follow whatever fad there is like lemmings right off a cliff. There are going to be SO MANY busts among these 18-19 year olds that have not shown they can actually play beyond a few minutes per game in the Euro League or G league. Rookie of the year will likely be between Clingen and Knecht, players who actually showed they can dominate and D1.

His combine results say he is quick enough to hang with PGs if need be. He has offense on lock and Lakers will get him on the right track on D. He put on 20-25lbs of muscle during his growth spurt and lives in the gym. He is self motivated and will take everything he is going to be taught seriously. What a gem landing on the Lakers lap.
