Its not total garbage but its not terribly far off (was the original really that great?). A few laughs, some good fights... but the villain was comically predictable. And unless Connor is a pussycat IRL, he shouldn't quit his day job. We've all enjoyed worse. 2.2/5, might watch again in a few years.

The dialogue and character interaction was like watching a cartoon... nothing felt realistic or relatable. It doesnt have to have a dark undertone, just dont make the villains seem like characters from spongebob squarepants, not to mention the bar looks like its a country club full of women and weak dudes throwing beer bottles at each other.. . that doesnt happen in real life

Honestly, it's a trope by now. "A seemingly well-mannered gentleman in a bar asking the thugs to respectfully move out so that they can square it out. Thugs are over-the-top dicks while the gent patiently waits for them to give up and offers a last chance to go away. He tells them that this doesn't need to happen. Seeing that the thugs are not going to give up, the gent beats them all, displaying his physical prowess and fighting experience that he tried to hide for so long. Having said that, I do love this trope lmao

Not really. They made it theyre own which is okay. It is interesting and ironic too bcuz this version is about a ufc fighter trying to escape the lifestyle and switch to bouncing. In real life mcgreggor is the ufc fighter and Gyllenhaal is the actor. It's flip flopped and I really like it. In other words this movie is basically a movie about the life of mcgreggor if he behaved better and acted more like a decent person. The good guy.

Another whiner. They both look like good movies and fun. Try to enjoy life a little more instead of complaining about remakes. The originals weren't masterpieces of cinema and they deserve a fresh take. At least it's not another girl with overpowered girl bosses lecturing men on their toxicity.
