argh lol yes. reminds me of when my brother was watching some youtube puppet show? me and his mom didn't really like it, but i guess the breaking point was when he told us about one episode where the joke was basically 'treat baby boys nice and hurt baby girls' (idk, it was a weird puppet thing, not even puppets lol just some guy holding stuffed animals) well that was the day my brother learned about the history of female infanticide, as well as a few other things pertaining to historical misogyny ☠😭 we didn't really yell at him, we just explained why that's reminiscent of some effed up historical stuff and why we didn't find it funny. poor kid apologized for laughing, we said that's ok you did not know. it's true, he did not know. it's incredibly WEIRD the stuff that gets shoved into youtube children's content. luckily he's on his owl house arc now, he's fine in terms of media consumption imo lol. i am just glad he talks to us about the stuff he watches, and that we are willing to listen
