Dame Dash Breaks Down Why 360 Deals are Bad for Artists (Flashback)

In this flashback, Dame Dash shared his thoughts on why 360 deals are bad for artists. He explained that the label profits off of the artist's career from all aspects and Dame added that the artist is selling "360 degrees of [their] ass." It’s the same thing with Record Labels. WWE created “John Cena” and therefore gets a portion of any revenue “John Cena” generates. Rappers don’t care to understand this because: A) they blow through their money B) they have a strong sense of entitlement The arguments against 360 deals have mostly been dumb. There are only a handful of cases where they were found predatory and courts always ruled against labels in those cases. Every other case is simple: The Label invested millions into the artist. And getting a portion of entertainment revenue generated by said artist will SPEED UP how quickly the artist can pay the label back. 360 deals SPEED UP the process. The sense of entitlement with rappers is they think they should’ve been given everything for free and should not have to pay any of it back. Many of them understand their music will never generate revenue so they are simply upset they can’t finesse a label out of millions then ride into the sunset.
