@ no you wrong.. The word dreadlocks (made up of dread + locks) is a totally jamaican term.... Rastaman tek it on fully, that's why back in the early days you had the House of Combsomes and the House of DREAD

People making comments about the man a nuh real rasta cause em cut em locks for a valid reason. The man hair dey pon the grung. More than 5 feet of hair he has to lug around. Can you imagine the strain on the neck.... the part that kills me is that when he was asked the question HE COULD HAVE LIED!!!!!!BUT HE CHOSE NOT TO....THAT IS A LOT TO ME. I respect his honesty.

In the Hawaiian culture, growing our hair for women is not just for dancing hula, but also our hair holds mana (power) that we have in us. Cutting our hair is like significant to starting fresh when in transition to a new season in our life, elevating. It also holds our personal history of our life's path and our journey.

Sikhs are required to keep a comb at all times so I'm sure they don't have dreads. They fold a turban around their hair like a burrito without the ends tucked in then wrap it around their head like a coiled snake. Need long straight hair for that. All the turbans are about the same size so if you see a giant turban on someone's head it's 99 percent hair in there. If they let their hair wick up their turbans couldn't be so sleek and clean looking, it would look like a pillowcase on their head
